Chapter Sixty-Six

Unable to contain the outburst that was mounting up inside him, Nikolas left her room and walked away to the parking area. He was totally devastated and needed a place to calm himself down. His first reaction was to pick up Brooklyn in his arms and then whisk her away to some lonely island but then he remembered her twin babies and just shrugged the thought away.. 

Brooklyn blinked and stirred from her sleep. Her cheek felt wet and she could feel the presence of someone in the room, someone who was upset and shedding tears. She opened her groggy eyes and looked around. Strangely the room smelled of Nikolas, she could breathe in his signature cologne everywhere. Was she hallucinating or was Nikolas really here?
