She saw Axel's eyes flickering in regret, but it didn't last long.
"Just know I won't ever hurt you." He mumbled. She was about to speak when he injected her with the syringe, and she immediately passed out in his arms. Axel carried her in his arms and walked out of the garden. As soon as he got outside, he met kira there. She had a frown on her face when she saw him carrying Rebecca. "Should I get someone to come carry her?" She asked. "Get someone to dress her up." Axel said, ignoring her question. "You're taking her back?" Kira asked, a bit surprised. "Don't question me, Kira. Just do as I've said." He ordered. Kira bowed her head, "Okay boss." She muttered and walked away. Axel stared down at Rebecca's face, and he let out a sigh. He continued walking till he got to one of the empty rooms. He placed her on the bed. A few minutes later, Kira showed up with another girl. The girl bowed in a way of greeting, but Axel didn't spare her a stare. His gaze was fixed on Rebecca, who was in a deep sleep. "Take this gown off her and change her into something else. After that, take her back home." He gave out his orders. "Okay boss." The girl and Kira chorused. Axel bent his head to Rebecca's face, he wanted to kiss her forehead, but he stopped and stood straight. "Kira." He called. "Yes boss," Kira replied. "When you're done, come to my room." He said. On hearing that, a smile appeared on Kira's lips. "Okay boss." After taking one last glance at Rebecca, Axel walked out of the room. Kira locked the door to the room and then went to stand beside the bed. "She is so lucky, isn't she?" She uttered, staring at Rebecca. "Yes, she is. I'm glad boss is finally letting her go. We don't want anything to distract him, she's too weak to be by his side." The girl answered. "Yeah. But I wonder how she got those scars on her back. They are scary." Kira remarked. She had seen scars on Rebecca's back when she changed her clothes from the wedding gown earlier. The scars weren't little, they were big and glaring on her back. "Tell the boss about it, he might know." The lady suggested. Kira sighed. "I will." ****** It was a busy morning in the city of Miami. Everyone was seen walking hastily in the street, hurrying to their places of work, except Eric, who stood in front of the police station, wondering whether to go in or not. Ever since Rebecca was abducted, this was the umpteenth time he had visited the station. The police were tired of taking his calls, he literally called them every five minutes to ask if they had gotten any updates on Rebecca's whereabouts. When they stopped taking his calls, he began coming directly to the police station. He was about to go inside when his phone rang. He took out his phone and when he saw the name of the caller, he ignored the call. But then the phone rang again. It was the same person calling. With anger and frustration, he answered the call and spoke first. "What is it?" "You won't believe what I'm about to tell you right now." The feminine voice spoke through the phone. Eric frowned. "Then don't tell me." "Chill! I was on my way to work when I saw Rebecca's apartment open. I walked in trying to find out who was in there, and surprisingly I found Rebecca there." The girl informed him. Eric's eyes brightened immediately. "Are you serious?" The girl's scoff was heard on the phone, "Why would I joke about something like that? Rebecca is currently in her apartment, but it..." Eric didn't wait for her to finish talking before he hung up. He rushed into his car and drove off at a high speed, going to Rebecca's house. The drive was supposed to take up to twenty minutes, but he arrived there in less than twelve minutes. He parked the car in front of the building and then ran out of it, heading to Rebecca's apartment. When he got in, he found the sitting room empty. His heart began racing, what if Rebecca's neighbor that gave him the info was trying to pull a prank on him or something? He walked past the living room and when he opened the bedroom door, a sharp exhale escaped his lips as he saw Rebecca in the room with her two friends. "Eric!" Rebecca sprang up from the bed and then rushed to him. She pulled him into a tight hug. Eric wrapped his hands around her, reciprocating the hug. He heard her sniffling, and he started patting her back, trying to calm her down. "I'm here now, okay?" He whispered. All of a sudden, Rebecca pushed him off her, making Eric surprised. "Are you okay?" He asked in concern. Rebecca raised her hand up and wanted to give him a slap, but he caught her hand just in time. "Babe, is something wrong?" Eric asked again. He was getting more confused. Rebecca, on the other hand, was dissatisfied that he held her hand. She wanted to vent all her anger on him, just like she did to Axel. Rebecca's friend, Whitney, walked closer to them. She stared at Eric with hatred in her eyes. "What isn't wrong? Or have you forgotten how you pushed her towards men? Have you forgotten how you chose your sister over her without trying to deal with the situation?" The malice in Whitney's voice couldn't be hidden. Eric was bereft of words, he didn't know what to say to justify himself. "Are you Speechless?" Whitney chuckled. "I'm glad those men showed up, otherwise we would not have realized you did not care about Rebecca that much." She added. "Come off it, Whitney. Anyone in his shoes would do the same." Rebecca's other friend, Ella, spoke from the bed where she was seated. Whitney turned to her. "Are you kidding me? Would you push me or Rebecca to a kidnapper?" She questioned. Ella shook her head slowly. "No." "Then what on earth are you trying to imply?" Whitney asked. Eric and Rebecca weren't paying attention to them. While Eric was thinking of how to make Rebecca forgive him, Rebecca was thinking about her encounter with Axel. She just couldn't get it off her mind. "Can you guys please excuse us?" Eric finally spoke up. "We won't." Whitney had her mind made up. Eric turned to Rebecca. "Babe, please can we talk?" Rebecca took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She looked at Whitney and Ella and then gave them a knowing look. Whitney shrugged before exiting the room, while Ella just walked out quietly. "You can speak now." Rebecca urged. "I'm sorry, babe. I was not in my right senses, I was so tensed." He apologized. Rebecca scoffed. "So what if I got killed?" Eric held her hands immediately. "Don't say that, you know I can't live without you. I am so sorry for what happened. I will always choose you. Please forgive me." Rebecca took a deep breath. She didn't have a choice other than to forgive him. Eric had done a lot for her since they began their relationship. She wouldn't use his mistake to pay for all the good things he did for her. "It's fine." She muttered. A cheerful smile appeared on Eric's face. "I love you," he declared. Rebecca flashed him a smile, she didn't feel the need to reciprocate his love declaration. Her stomach made a loud rumbling sound and she pouted. Eric poked her cheek. "You are such a baby, I will make you your favorite meal. But first, you need to tell me how you got back home and why you were abducted." Rebecca shook her head. "No, I do not want stirred fried spaghetti, I want something else. We will talk about my return over breakfast." Eric was kind of surprised she rejected her favorite meal, but he didn't ask her why. "Okay babe. Rest for a while, I will be back." He told her. He planted a soft kiss on her lips and then walked out of the bedroom. Whitney and Ella entered as soon as he left. "Shut the door." Rebecca whispered. Ella quickly went to lock the door. Earlier, before Eric came, she was on the verge of telling them who plotted the abduction and why. She didn't know how she got home. She woke up this morning only to find herself on her bed. She had borrowed her neighbor's phone to call her friends. She didn't call Eric because she wanted to tell her first friends and listen to their suggestion. It would be stupid of her to tell Eric who took her. She stared at her friends who had curious looks on their faces. "Axel was behind my abduction." She revealed. Ella and Whitney exchanged looks before looking back at her. "Are you kidding me?" Ella found it hard to believe. "I was also shocked to see him. But believe me guys, Axel was the one behind everything. He..." Rebecca paused when she heard the door creaking open. Eric entered the room, he was already putting on an apron. "I came to ask if Whitney and Ella care for some food, so I can make enough portion." He said. "That's so sweet of you, Eric." Ella commented. "Thank you, Ella. Whitney, how about you?" Eric asked. Whitney faked a smile. "Of course," She replied. "Okay, see ya soon." With that being said, Eric went out, shutting the door behind him. Rebecca faced Whitney. "You used to like him, what changed?" "He chose his sister over you!" Whitney half yelled. "I would have done the same. Why make a big deal out of it?" Rebecca was already getting angry. Whitney didn't say any more words, she only rolled her eyes. "That's enough, guys. We should be focused on why Axel abducted Rebecca." Ella chipped in. "He wanted me to stay there. He told me Eric wasn't a good person, and even though I do not know why he said that, I feel bothered." Rebecca explained. "Maybe Eric isn't really a nice person." Whitney muttered, just to her hearing. "Then how is it possible you are here? If he wanted you to stay, you wouldn't be here right now," Ella thought out. Rebecca was taken aback. If Axel really wanted her to stay, there was nothing she could do. But he respected her decision and took her back home. How did he even know her house? How was he able to access her apartment? Why did he abduct her in the first place if he had no intention of forcing her to stay? Many thoughts filled her mind.In the dining room, Rebecca, Whitney and Ella were seated patiently, waiting for Eric to bring the food.As soon as Eric dished out the food, Rebecca eagerly took her first bite."This tastes so good." She commented.Eric smiled, he knew her compliment was genuine, not just to make him happy. Her facial expression revealed it.He took his apron off his body and took the seat next to Ella."I'm glad you like it."After that, they all ate in silence. Only the sounds of plates and cutleries clicking could be heard."I'm so glad you are back, I thought I lost you forever." Eric broke the silence."Me too." Rebecca replied with a charming smile on her face.Eric returned the smile. "So tell us, who took you? And why did they let you go?"Ella and Whitney exchanged a knowing glance. They didn't get the chance to warn Rebecca about telling Eric the truth."Well..."Rebecca was still thinking of what to say, when Ella chipped in."She said they got the wrong person. She wasn't the target, but
It was days after Rebecca returned back home, she had finally agreed to move in with Eric after giving it enough thought, and she picked today to move her things to his house.Eric was busy, there was an urgent board meeting so he couldn’t be with her to help her pack her stuff.Whitney and Ella took a day off work just to help her and she was indeed grateful for the friends she had.As Whitney carried the last box into the truck, she spotted a teddy bear bulging out, it couldn’t fully enter the carton. Rebecca had always reveal her hatred for Axel because of what he did in the past, but why did she still have this teddy with her? Why not thrash it?She was there when Axel handed th
”Nice flowers.” Wendy commended as soon as Rebecca entered the room. Rebecca on the other hand didn’t pay attention to what was said. She was lost in a world of her own thought. She didn’t see the face of the biker, but from the sound of his voice, she could tell who it was. It was a voice she would recognize anytime, any day. The voice of the devil who haunts her in her dream. A pat on the shoulder brought her back to reality. She jerked and the flower slipped from her hands, but Wendy caught it before it could fall to the floor.“Thank you.” She mumbled.“You are welcome… By the way, was it Mr Eric that sent you the flowers?” Wendy wanted to know so badly. Because why didn’t the delivery guy hand over the flower to her? Why did he insist on giving it to Rebecca himself? Wendy thought it was something important and secretive, but it was just flowers. Or was there any other package given to Rebecca? Did she hide it? Wendy was so curious.“No.” Rebecca’s short reply added to her
As Rebecca walked out of the house, Wendy tried as much as possible to stop her but all to no avail.“Mr Eric would get angry if you leave without telling me your whereabouts. By the way, it’s getting late and he’ll return soon.” She had tried all she could to persuade her but Rebecca was stubborn. She needed answers and she would get it. She took a taxi to Ella’s apartment and fortunately the sitting room door was opened slightly, indicating Ella was home. As she was about to enter the living room, she heard familiar voices chatting, more like an argument. She wanted to go inside and see what was making them raise their voice at each other, but her steps halted when she heard these words, “You can’t lie to me! I know you called Axel.” Her heart skipped a beat at the mention of his name. What were they talking about? And who called him? Unable to suppress her curiosity, she walked into the house and the two girls were shocked to see her.“Rebecca?” Whitney called, flabbergaste
Whitney and Ella could be seen pacing to and fro in front of the ward Rebecca was in. Immediately Rebecca passed out, they called for emergency and the ambulance arrived in no time. The doctor in charge of Rebecca’s treatment walked out of the ward and they rushed to him immediately.“What happened to her? Will she be okay?” Ella questioned. The doctor’s lips curled up in a charming smile, and they both wondered why he was smiling in such situation.“It’s good to see you genuinely worried about her, she’s so lucky to have both of you.” He commended. “Thank you, but is she okay?” Whitney asked. She wasn’t concerned about his comments on their friendship, that was the least of her problems, but she also didn’t want to sound rude to him.“She’s fine. Her body reacted to shock… By the way, what was going on before she passed out?” The doctor asked keenly.“We were having a normal conversation. Now, if you don’t mind, can we go see her?” Whitney asked.“Sure, you can.” “Thank you.” El
Rebecca pulled her wrist away from Axel’s hand and then moved away from him.“My husband is here, please leave.” The urgency in her voice wasn’t unnoticed. She watched as Axel covered his face with the hoodie and left the ward silently, which was strange. Because she knew Axel so well, he would have tried to protest and won’t leave till she pleads. Something was strange, but she just didn’t know what it was.****** Eric was getting tired of Whitney’s narration, he needed to see Rebecca and Whitney was delaying him by telling story of how Rebecca passed out in the middle of their conversation. Earlier, he was getting ready to leave the company when he received a call from Wendy that Rebecca left home. The drive to Eric’s house was awkward, their last conversation had ended and no one said a word to each other. The girls had a lot on their mind, but they couldn’t say it out because of the presence of Eric and his driver whom were at the front seats. Rebecca was still feeling dizzy, she just couldn’t wait to get home so she would sleep. She had been so stressed lately, and she wished she could go back to when things were just between her, her friends and Eric. She didn’t know why Axel had to return, because ever since he came back, she had lost her peace. They arrived home in no time and after having dinner, she went straight to her room and slept off. While Whitney and Ella were taken to the guest room. She slept well that night and when she woke up, it was already morning and Eric wasn’t in the room. She stood from the bed and went to check the bathroom, but he wasn’t there.“Where did he go to so early?” She muttered, going to take her phone from the bedside table. The d
The stylist smiled satisfactorily as the bride stepped out of the dressing room. Looking at how the ice white satin gown fitted the bride, she couldn't help but to be proud of herself. She needed no one to tell her that she did a good job.The bride in front of her was the definition of a perfect bride. She could be mistaken for an angel because of how beautiful and clean she looked."I'm glad you chose this design, it is so pretty" Commented the stylist as she walked to the bride, helping her with the place that needed amendment. After the amendments, she raised her head, staring directly at the bride. "You look almost perfect... Something is missing."She was expecting the bride to ask what it was, but to her disappointment, the bride didn't ask."Miss Rebecca, are you okay?"Taking a deep breath, Rebecca joined her palms together, then she puffed out air from her mouth. "I'm fine" She finally replied. "What do you say is missing?""A smile!" The stylist exclaimed and the bride chuc

His bright blue eyes moved from her head to her toes, observing every feature of her. An almost invisible smile appeared on his lips when he spotted a butterfly tattoo on her left wrist."How have you been, Becca?" His voice was low and smooth. It was slow and deliberate, as if he was choosing each word with care. Rebecca's skin prickled with goosebumps as soon as she heard his voice. For the first time in six years, she was hearing his voice again. Her eyes moved shakily around him. He was no longer the cute young innocent boy she used to know, he had transformed into a dangerous handsome man. He looked dangerous in the black tuxedo. And he had a dark aura around him. He had changed in those years, and she easily noticed it. He took a step forward, and she moved back immediately. She couldn't believe he was the same man she used to love. He was looking so dangerous, and for some reason she was scared. Axel's eyes darkened when he noticed the fear in her eyes. His expression
