The drive to Eric’s house was awkward, their last conversation had ended and no one said a word to each other.

The girls had a lot on their mind, but they couldn’t say it out because of the presence of Eric and his driver whom were at the front seats.

Rebecca was still feeling dizzy, she just couldn’t wait to get home so she would sleep. She had been so stressed lately, and she wished she could go back to when things were just between her, her friends and Eric. She didn’t know why Axel had to return, because ever since he came back, she had lost her peace.

They arrived home in no time and after having dinner, she went straight to her room and slept off. While Whitney and Ella were taken to the guest room.

She slept well that night and when she woke up, it was already morning and Eric wasn’t in the room.

She stood from the bed and went to check the bathroom, but he wasn’t there.

“Where did he go to so early?” She muttered, going to take her phone from the bedside table.

It was her final decision, and no matter what, she would go through with the plan. She wouldn’t trade her peace of mind for anything. “Are you sure?” Whitney asked. The plan sounded good but it was scary. How would they find his address? What if the plan fall through? Surely he’s going to come for her and he meant what he said the previous day. No, Rebecca wasn’t sure. He was the same guy she used to love, he was the same guy that treated her like a queen. ‘He betrayed you!’ Her inner mind yelled, more like a reminder, and her heart clenched when she recalled what happened six years ago. FLASHBACK Sixteen years old Rebecca was seated on the swing with her grip tightened against the two ropes. She wasn't swinging it, she was just there. That was the only calm place in the orphanage, the other places were filled with kids, and she didn't want to be in a noisy place at that moment. She had a sad look on her face, and one could tell something was bothering her. She spotted t

AXEL’S PRIVATE BUILDING* In a large bright room, Axel was asleep on the bed and Trent was seated close to the bed. His gaze fixed on Axel the whole time, especially the arm that was wrapped with a bandage. Axel slowly opened his eyes and the first thing it came in contact with was Trent’s face. He tried to sit upright but pain hit from his arm. He groaned and still sat upright, resting his back on the bed frame. “I’m wondering if you’re an imposter, cause this isn’t the Axel I used to know.” Trent said, giving him and indifferent look. Axel didn’t question his statement, he knew what Trent meant by that. Axel Thomas Leonard wouldn’t go for an exchange and get shot in the process. He does the shooting, not the other way round. Last night, after returning from the hospital where he went to see Rebecca, he went for a drug exchange, with few of his men. Things turned out nasty, and he got shot in the arm. “What were you thinking about? Because you were clearly not in your

Rebecca checked her wristwatch for the umpteenth time. It was few minutes past 10 and Axel had confirmed he would come, but he was no where to be seen. She and her friends were at the back of the restaurant and the place was dark, there was no street light placed directly to the place. Ella’s phone rang for the twentieth time and they didn’t need to check to know who was calling.“Eric is probably worried. You shouldn’t have switched off your phone.” Ella queried. Rebecca had her phone switched off because she didn’t want Eric to question her whereabouts. When Eric couldn’t reach her, he began raining calls on Ella. She didn’t know what she would tell him when she gets home, and she cared less. She would think of something after Whitney is finally free from trouble, but for now, she was concerned about Axel’s arrival. She was about to dial his number when she heard the sound of a motorcycle approaching. The motorcycle stopped in front of them and she instantly knew it was Ax

In a dark corner, somewhere far from the area where the incident had just happened, a bike was seen parked in front of a figure seated on the floor. It was Axel. The reason for all these was Rebecca, he wanted her back, he needed her in his life. But after what happened earlier, he knew he didn’t stand a chance to win her over, he finally knew she had erased him completely from her heart. Meanwhile, an advanced lady stood outside Ella’s apartment, waiting for Ella to answer her. She kept knocking, hoping someone would answer her. Her knuckles were starting to hurt, due to the numerous times she had knocked on the door. She had tried using the bell but it seemed it got spoilt because the button didn’t work. She had an important meeting that morning and it was Saturday, she couldn’t leave her five years old son alone at home, so she wanted to ask Ella to babysit him till ten o’clock, cause they were neighbors and they were somehow close. She got tired of knocking and decided to meet the other neighbor. Inside the bedroom, Ella exchanged looks with her friends when she couldn’t hear the knock anymore.“Do you think he got tired of knocking?”She asked no one in particular. “I don’t know.” Rebecca replied, tightening her grip on the kitchen knife in her hand. “There’s only one way to find out.” Ella led the way to the sitting room, tiptoeing, while the

Rebecca returned home from work, her shift ended exactly at 9pm and she drove home immediately. She wanted to hear what Eric had to say. When she got home, Eric wasn’t back, so she decided to take her bath and freshen up before he arrives. The clock kept ticking and Eric wasn’t still back, just as she was about to dial his number, she received a text message from him.*Babe, I’m sorry, I can’t really talk right now. I won’t be coming home, I have to finish up with the work at the company. I promise to return immediately I’m back. Don’t stay up all night, have a good night rest. I love you.* A deep frown appeared on her face as she read it. If it was before, she would be proud of him, praising him for working hard, but now she knew he wasn’t at the company, he was somewhere else, and it pissed her off. She guessed his receptionist hadn’t informed him about her visit to the company, hence this text. She kept her phone and tried to sleep early because she had to continue treatme

She was enveloped with fear, as if he threatened to end her life not the call.“Hello,” That was the only thing she could think of saying.“Do you want something?” His voice sounded urgent and hoarse, like he wasn’t interested in having a conversation with her.“Um…” She didn’t know what to say. She’d called him because she was bored, and she didn’t think he would pick, but eventually he did. “How are you?” “For someone who badly wants me locked up in prison, I don’t think my welfare has anything to do with you.” He replied through the phone. It was an emotional song and she found it relatable to her situation, but she wasn’t sobbing, she just vibed to it.“They say time heals all wound, but yours cut so deep!” She sang that part a bit loud. She continued singing along till she heard a knock on the door. She walked towards the direction and her mood changed from bad to worse immediately she saw who knocked. It was Eric.“Hey babe.” He flashed her a smile, but the smile disappeared when he saw the look on her face. It was unusual. He expected her to be all over him by now but she didn’t budge, she just stood there in front of him, her gaze boring into his.“Are you okay?” Eric asked, his tone filled with concern. When she got to where the men were, they pointed guns at her. “Who are you?” They asked in unison.“I am Rebecca Lu…”“Don’t.” She heard Kira’s voice from the bus. “Don’t say your surname.”“I am Rebecca.”One of the men scoffed. “Who cares about your fucking name?”“But you asked who I was and…”“Your identity!” He said firmly. “Is the boss expecting you?” “No, I…” Their grips on their gun tightened. “Then what are you doing here?”“Can you please call him and let him know Rebecca is here? Please.” To her surprise, they didn’t bulge. She watched as the guy touched the bud in his ear and spoke to whoever was at the other end.“Rebecca who?” She kept quiet, waiting for Kira to tell her what to say, since she stopped her earlier from saying her surname.“The daughter of his late friend, Michael.” She repeated what Kira told her. She noticed how the men observed her as she said that, and she couldn’t help but wonder why. The men exchanged looks after one of them whi

Immediately Rebecca heard that, she pushed Kira’s hands off her shoulders and moved back. Her brows furrowed, forming wrinkles and from the look on her face, one could tell she was displeased by what she just heard.“You planned this with Axel, right?” She accused.“No. Axel doesn’t know about this, he doesn’t even care about the pregnancy…”“Then why do you care? Why do you want me to get rid of it?” She fired. Kira hit her forehead in frustration. “Here we go. This is why I never wanted to agree to help you.”“So getting rid of my baby is your definition of help?” She scoffed. “Make it make sense.”“Yes. The child belongs to Eric, and nothing can be hidden under the sun. He’s definitely going to find out one day, and that’s like an advantage to him cause with the child he has high possibilities of taking over your father’s properties.” Kira explained detailedly. Rebecca wasn’t still convinced, not for a bit. “Who is going to tell him? You? Axel? Aside both of you no one else

Rebecca stood there in silence, contemplating on what to do. From Axel’s recent behavior, she began doubting if he really wanted to help her, or he needed her to accomplish his goals, because everything was always about him. But then, she didn’t have anywhere else to go, or who to help her. A thought suddenly crossed her mind. Fernando! He was a very good friend of her dad, and she was sure he would help her if she came clean to him. But then, how would she locate him? She turned, scanning the environment with her eyes, and her gaze landed on Axel who was at the shooting range alone. Taking a deep breath, she approached him just when he was about to shoot.“Hey.” She cooed. He spared her a stare before focusing on what he was doing.“I’m sorry about earlier. I just…” she inhaled deeply. “I just didn’t know what to do. Fernando was so nice to me and dad and hearing about him after a long time might have sparked my reaction.” He didn’t reply her. She was taken aback by his request. Steal? She had never stolen anything and Axel knew that. But what could the thing be and why didn’t Axel send someone else? Many thoughts filled her mind as she waited for him to explain further. She wrapped her hands around her breasts, not because she was shy, but because she suddenly felt cold. She clenched her thighs tightly, trying so hard to surpress the urge to grab Axel and make him do the dirtiest stuff she had in mind. Axel didn’t speak, there was a deafening silence between them and she knew he wouldn’t say anything if she refused to speak first.“Steal what?” He moved closer to her. “I’ll tell you full details later, but for now….” He grabbed her neck roughly and a light gasped escaped her lips. “Let’s make you cum.” With his hand still on her neck, he pushed her to the wall and her back hit the wall roughly.“Shouldn’t we go to a room.” She asked beneath her breath. She was already feeling the tension.“Why would

Rebecca stepped out of the bathroom, her body dripping wet of water. Instead of wrapping her body with the towel, she wrapped her head with the only towel available. She was surprised to see Kira in the room, seated on the bed with a black dress and sandal beside her. The room was specially assigned to her by Axel to stay for the meantime. It was spacious and simple, just as she liked it. They weren’t irrelevant decors, just the lamp nn the bedside table and a small book shelf which was filled with books, then other necessary stuff. She liked reading and was sure Axel gave her this room on purpose.“You can’t be walking around naked.” Kira shrugged as Rebecca walked towards her.“Didn’t know someone was here.” Rebecca replied as she picked the gown from the bed.“Courtesy?” “Axel wants you to put it on.” Kira informed. She observed the dress for a while before moving her gaze to Kira. “It’s late for goodness sake, why should I put this on?” It was a long black sleeveless go

He took slow strode towards her and when he got to her front, he grabbed her wrist, his fingers stroking the butterfly tattoo.“When I first saw this, I was excited because it means you do not hate me as you claim…” He looked up and found her staring at him with confusion displayed in her brown eyes.“You have all the reason to hate me, Becca, you really do. But please…” he took a deep breath, a bit hesitant. “Do not hate me for long.” Rebecca was too confused to speak. She didn’t know what to say or how to react. Indeed she hated him for what he did, but for some days now she had been seeing him differently, even after persuading

Rebecca stood dumbstruck, confused on what to do. She stared at the lifeless body of the driver, then back at Axel’s retreating figure. From his behavior, she could tell he was angry. Who wouldn’t be? She had asked for this, but now she couldn’t face it. She was too soft to take someone’s life, and it would keep haunting her.“Axel!” She called as she ran after him. She was able to meet up with him when he walked into the house, and in order to stop him, she rushed to his front, blocking him.“Axel.”“What is it, Becca?” His tone was normal and she began to think she was overreacting, maybe Axel wasn’t angry after all. While his tone showed he wasn’t angry, his face said otherwise. His brows were furrowed and his eyes were squinted as he stared at her.“I’m sorry. It was late at night and Rebecca was seen taking a walk around the compound. The bright light around made it easier for her to find her way. She could tell it wasn’t Axel, because he was taller than that. Curiously, she walked to where the guy stood, and when the guy noticed a presence, he turned. Seeing it was Rebecca, he bowed shortly. Rebecca’s brows raised slightly as she wondered the reason for his gesture. “Hi.” The guy was familiar, he was one of the men that came to Eric’s hideout with Axel.“Do you need me to help you with anything?” He asked politely.“No… I mean yes.”“What can I help you with?”“Why can’t Eric be killed?” She asked the question that had been bothering her. She was sure Axel had the chance to kill him, but he didn’t. And Eric’s confidence increased her curiosity.“I and the others do n
