CEO's Ugly Bride

**ALEX POV**

I had always thought of myself as a worthless being, living for 17 years without my mother with me I felt even more worthless.

My certified drunkard of a father and playboy brother doesn't help matters instead they both continuously make fun of me.

I picked up my phone from the bed after my night time routine and logged into my social media account, scrolling through my news feed when i saw a sponsored post about Killian Lockwood looking for a wife.

I huffed and sipped my yogurt silently. "A wife online?" I thought and shook my head, this rich folks surprises me everyday with their way of living.

I wanted to scroll down from the post since it has nothing to do with me, Killian is a powerful business man who owns tons of business chains around the world, his empire is considered the biggest one on the planet.

I don't even know why I'm still dwelling on this, I have nothing to do with a rich man post.

All my thoughts flew out of the window when I saw the benefit that accompany the title of being his wife for a year.

"I can finally undergo a surgery, I can finally go back to school and mingle with my peers." I thought excitedly.

But the problem was my ugliness. that rich business tycoon will never accept me or want anything to do with me, moreover he is 35 years old!

A whooping 14 years difference. I frowned at the turn of events and held my phone close to my heart.

"What do I do now?" I asked no one in particular.

A hard knock came on the door making me flinch and fall down from the bed thereby hitting my butt hard on the floor.

"Damn it, who the hell is that!" I yelled angrily.

who else if not the man I called my father or my unfilial brother.

"Open this door or I'll pull it down, damn it!" A voice shouted from outside.

I crawl back against the wall and sat down on the ground, hugging my legs to myself.

it is my father, he is drunk again.

when he gets drunk which happens almost everyday I become his ultimate punching bag.

He keep yelling from the outside but I didn't make a sound, it doesn't matter if I make a sound or not, he would come inside and meet me here then do to me as he wishes.

I couldn't hold it any longer so I get up from where I was sitting down and picked up the little knife that I hid under my bed, it was a protection weapon which I finally opt for in order not to get beaten to death.

I hold the knife firmly and slowly made my way to the door, I pulled it open and was immediately pushed back causing me to hit my head on the wall, I cried out in pain from the hard hit.

"it hurts." I mumbled as hers fall from my eyes.

I was exhausted even though I know perfectly well that the torture just started.

"You bitch, I wish you can just die so that I can stop seeing you ugly face." He spats and kicked me hard.

I chuckled Butler and wiped my tears away angrily, I hate the fsct that I couldn't defend myself back then and even today that I thought I can I still can't.

it sucks, I suck!

"You're right, it would have been better if I died. I mean I'm also tired of seeing your drunk self." I replied mockingly.

"You wench," He shouted and slapped me across my face.

"Is that all you got dad? bring it on, hit me more, come on! maybe in the process you can make me pretty." I said to his face, his eyes darkened and he started loosing his belt, my instinct kicked and i fished my knife from the ground and cut his hand then I ran out of the room.

I jumped three steps at a time trying to get as far away as I can.

when I ran out of the house the street was dark, everywhere was calm and it was raining hard.

I feel like the rain should just eat me up, I was tired and still here I am tired up.

I covered my head with my hoodie and started running. I ran and ran and ran letting out my frustration on the street, letting my tears flow freely nonstop.

Who the hell are you to mock my look? who the fuck are you to make mockery of my misery?

Who the hell are you to punish me because I don't look like barbie? I didn't create myself, I don't love my look as well and you know what? the last thing I'm gon' do is to kill myself.

My legs continuously hitting the ground and the sound of my tears echoing along with the thunder makes the night even more scary.

My leg hits a stone and I fall face down on the ground, i lay there crying, i couldn't move.

My feets are sore and if i move a step again then I'm going to fall down for the second time tonight on the street.

"Why are you crying? why are you out here in the dark, on the ground while the rain is this heavy?" A voice asked, I turned my neck around to know whom it is but I couldn't move my neck.

"Let me help you."

She come around and help me up, she pointed her touch light at my leg and i wasn't surprised that my leg feet was bleeding.

"We've got a problem here, you have a bleeding foot, can you at least walk? we can squat at that store down there." She said but I shook my head.

"Who are you?" I asked her. I couldn't view her face properly since it was dark but I felt save with her.

Something about her comfort me.

"Let's just say that I am that girl who ran away from home, your little accomplice." She responded.
