Roam on the street.

AYSEL'S POV CONTINUES.

I moved across the street, freezing and trembling. I was just in my gown, the silk, curvy gown I had worn earlier to impress my husband, but all in all, it backfired.

I was not allowed to take anything, not even a jacket, on this winter night. I was just manhandled and thrown out into the streets by the guards, despite my pleas.

He didn't even look backward. I sat outside the mansion for awhile, looking at the building with tears dripping from my eyes. I had hoped he would realize his mistakes and come back to me, but those were just wishes.

When I began feeling too cold, I left the estate, roaming about and looking for a place to spend the night before I froze out there. I wasn't ready for death yet.

I was weeping and clutching my arms all over my body in the hope it would help prevent the cold. It was an estate, so I couldn't find any left-over open space to spend the night. I had to walk all the way down to the bristling street, filled with peasants and homeless.

' To think I was just one of them now' I smiled painfully at my thoughts before trying to cross the road, when I suddenly couldn't see clearly. My vision was blurry, and my head was pounding.

It was just almost like I was having a dizzy spell.

"Oh no! Not now, please," I struggled to mutter to myself while trying to stabilize my footing, oblivious to the car speeding towards me until I heard a loud horn.

My body froze, and I struggled to turn to see a vehicle moving towards me. I tried to move, but couldn't. It was just like I was stuck. People nearby were yelling.

"Lady, get out of there or you will get crushed.".

I wanted to, but felt too weak to move even my arm. I guess this is how I would end. I closed my eyes, weeping and waiting for the impact of the vehicle, but instead got dragged away from the road by a strong arm.

I flipped my eyes open and came face to face with a strange, manly but handsome face before closing my eyes again and giving up on my dizziness.

"Beep, beep, beep," I heard in my ears, and I flipped my eyes open to find myself in a hospital ward.

'How did I get here?' I pondered as I noticed the drip connected to my left hand.

"Good to see you are awake." I heard a deep, manly voice just by my right and turned briskly to see the handsome man who saved me from being crushed to death.

He has short, fluffy brown hair, an intensive brown orb that seemed to sharpen quickly, a glance at me with curiosity, a charming facial expression, glossy, pink lips, and a muscular build. He looked so huge.

"Why would you want to kill yourself?" He demanded, his eyes cold and void of emotion. Something within my guts made me feel wary of this stranger, and I wondered why because all he had done since we met was to help me.

"I wasn't trying to kill myself; I was feeling dizzy and just couldn't move," I explained myself, and he looked at me for awhile before commenting rudely.

"You should better thank your stars. I was just there in time to save your ass; otherwise, your spirit would have seen your body shattered to pieces.". I glared at him for such a comment.

Just then, the doctor came in with a nurse trailing right behind him. They were both beaming with smiles, and I found myself thinking, What was there to be happy about?

"Congratulations, Mr. Night; your wife is two weeks gone." The doctor announced, and my heart literally stopped beating.

" What?" I found myself whispering, feeling my legs tremble from the news I just heard.

The stranger was obviously confused because he arched a brow at the time, repeating after him.

"Two weeks gone?".

"Oh, please, pardon me. I meant she is  pregnant." There was silence for awhile, and I turned to observe him, millions of thoughts running through my head.

I thought I saw a sly smile curve on his lips, but when I blinked, his expression was back to cold, so perhaps I was imagining stuff. I couldn't trust my state of mind at the moment, could I?

"Congratulations to you and your wife," the doctor told us sincerely, offering his hand for a handshake, and I was about to correct him. The stranger wasn't my husband.

"He is n...." I was just about to say that when I was cut off by him.

" Oh! Thank you. We can't be more joyful  either." The stranger appreciated it and took the doctor's hand in his, forging a fake smile.

"What, joyous?" I was stunned and oblivious to what was happening. The doctor soon left with the nurse, leaving me alone with the stranger.

"Why didn't you tell them the truth?" I demanded, fury blazing in my eyes, but all he did was smirk.

"I know everything about you and how your husband abandoned you for his mistress after using you as a substitute," he began, and my eyes widened so much that they almost popped out of their sockets.

His words sank into me, reminding me of my pain. Now, I was pregnant and all alone, but Raven probably didn't give a damn and was enjoying himself with her.

Just the thought of it brought tears to my eyes once more, and I started crying again. Not giving a damn, I was exposing myself bare to a stranger.

He didn't get up, nor did he offer me any words of comfort. He just continued to look at me as I cried. Seconds later, he handed me a handkerchief, his gaze still cold and piercing.

"You must think of me as a fool," I murmured, barely loud enough for me to hear, but surprisingly, he heard me and replied.

"No, I don't."

"As a matter of fact, I can help you get revenge if you want." He announced, and I faced him swiftly.
