Ever be more ready.

AYSEL'S POV CONTINUES.

"Good choice. Now here is the thing: You will have to sign a contract, and we will have to be married," he stated, and I accepted it without thinking it through.

" Okay".

" Okay?" He asked, his jaw dropping in disbelief, and I nodded. That was how desperate I was. I didn't care if there were going to be any bad consequences or whatever. I just wanted to have my revenge and make them all pay, especially Raven, and my prayers just got accepted.

I proceeded to stare down at my still, flat tummy. I still couldn't believe I was pregnant. My hands moved on their own accord to it and started rubbing it. I was hoping to feel at least a bump or kick. I had something growing in my tummy, but I realized how silly I was and chuckled.

I was just two weeks away.

"Don't worry, I will help take responsibility for your child as well once it is delivered." Adrien assured me, and in that moment, I saw him as a Godsent, as a solution to all my problems, as my savior.

Neither did I know then that I was signing a deal with the devil.

FIVE YEARS LATER.

The plane landed, and I got out of it with the help of the bodyguards nearby. I was finally back here, back to my home. Looking across everywhere from the private landing, it doesn't feel like home anymore.

More like a strange land, as every bad thing I have experienced all came flashing back through my mind. I clenched my fists tightly, wishing to just turn back and leave, but, hell no, I have not gotten what I came here for.

And as soon as I did, I was leaving without batting an eyelid.

"Raven, get ready for me," I whispered to myself, my face transforming into a scowl.

"Welcome back, young mistress." They all chorused, and I turned to throw them a smile, filling them with fulfillment.

"Thank you so much," I appreciated.

"It feels good to be back," I added. Just then, I heard the most beautiful, tiny sound ever from behind me.

"Momma, momma, wait for me." My face widened into a bigger smile, my cheeks almost hurting, but I didn't care and just turned to face my little champ.

He had a handsome face, black hair, and deep black orbs, like his father. He was so insanely adorable and was getting off the plane and running towards me with his tiny, little legs, his arms outstretched for a hug.

I had moved a bit further from the plane to admire the place, but I felt my heart skip a beat when I saw him running just to meet me.

' He could fall' I thought, feeling my palm going sweaty from fear, so I quickly called out.

"Take it easy, RJ. We don't want you falling now, do we?" I heard Adrian's voice and turned to see him also getting off the plane, his assistant right behind him, and smiled a little.

He knew what was on my mind and has been a great help in raising my little champ. Adrian Night is now my husband. RJ heard him but decided to ignore me and flew right into my outstretched arms.

"Mama betrayed RJ. Didn't she promise RJ we would land together?" RJ questioned me with his tiny voice, still stuffed into my embrace, his arms locked around me tightly. I even had to bend to his height so he would be comfortable.

"Now, sweetheart, we did land together, didn't we?" I asked him, releasing him from the embrace, to admire his cute facials but met a frown on his face.

"But not get out of the plane together," he reminded me, his tone raising a little. He even moved away from me, folded his arms like an adult, and looked away with a huff, pretending to be angry.

I fought my Chuckle and just kept looking at his face. He looked so much and acted so much like him. When I and Raven just got newly married, at that time, he hadn't started acting like a jerk. Perhaps he was still looking for her.

Our marriage was not bad, but it wasn't perfect either, and Raven acted exactly like this when he couldn't get me to do what he wanted. I pulled my little champion close to me and pecked him on the forehead.

And like always, it worked like it should. RJ softened immediately, just like his father always softened immediately when I pecked him. I just kept on looking at him, remembering when I brought him into this world.

I saw the exact carbon copy of him and even questioned God about whether he wanted to punish me. I thought I would hate, or at least try to hate, but when I heard his tiny, little cries calling for me, his momma.

All I could feel at that moment was just love, and I promised myself and him to always be there to take care of him and never leave his side like his father did to me.

"How do you feel?" I heard Adrian ask as he moved to stand by my side, standing tall and looking down at me.

I contemplated for awhile before replying, my eyes still on RJ, who was looking at both me and Adrian curiously, probably wondering why Adrian was asking how I felt.

"Momma, are you sick? Why didn't you inform RJ?" He questioned me, his eyeballs growing so wide, and I laughed, finding him funny.

"I am not sick, RJ. Your father was just referring to something else," I explained, and he nodded at me before leaving to go meet his nanny, who suddenly called him.

"So inquisitive," Adrian commented as I stood up from my knees.

"Just like his father," I blurted out without thinking and realized what I just said—just too late.

"I am sorry." I apologized, but he nudged off.

"No need to apologize; I understand." He told me, and I breathed out a sign of relief.

"Are you ready?" He inquired, and I nodded.
