AYSEL'S POV CONTINUES.
"Good choice. Now here is the thing: You will have to sign a contract, and we will have to be married," he stated, and I accepted it without thinking it through. " Okay". " Okay?" He asked, his jaw dropping in disbelief, and I nodded. That was how desperate I was. I didn't care if there were going to be any bad consequences or whatever. I just wanted to have my revenge and make them all pay, especially Raven, and my prayers just got accepted. I proceeded to stare down at my still, flat tummy. I still couldn't believe I was pregnant. My hands moved on their own accord to it and started rubbing it. I was hoping to feel at least a bump or kick. I had something growing in my tummy, but I realized how silly I was and chuckled. I was just two weeks away. "Don't worry, I will help take responsibility for your child as well once it is delivered." Adrien assured me, and in that moment, I saw him as a Godsent, as a solution to all my problems, as my savior. Neither did I know then that I was signing a deal with the devil.....................................................................................................................................................................
FIVE YEARS LATER. The plane landed, and I got out of it with the help of the bodyguards nearby. I was finally back here, back to my home. Looking across everywhere from the private landing, it doesn't feel like home anymore. More like a strange land, as every bad thing I have experienced all came flashing back through my mind. I clenched my fists tightly, wishing to just turn back and leave, but, hell no, I have not gotten what I came here for. And as soon as I did, I was leaving without batting an eyelid. "Raven, get ready for me," I whispered to myself, my face transforming into a scowl. "Welcome back, young mistress." They all chorused, and I turned to throw them a smile, filling them with fulfillment. "Thank you so much," I appreciated. "It feels good to be back," I added. Just then, I heard the most beautiful, tiny sound ever from behind me. "Momma, momma, wait for me." My face widened into a bigger smile, my cheeks almost hurting, but I didn't care and just turned to face my little champ. He had a handsome face, black hair, and deep black orbs, like his father. He was so insanely adorable and was getting off the plane and running towards me with his tiny, little legs, his arms outstretched for a hug. I had moved a bit further from the plane to admire the place, but I felt my heart skip a beat when I saw him running just to meet me. ' He could fall' I thought, feeling my palm going sweaty from fear, so I quickly called out. "Take it easy, RJ. We don't want you falling now, do we?" I heard Adrian's voice and turned to see him also getting off the plane, his assistant right behind him, and smiled a little. He knew what was on my mind and has been a great help in raising my little champ. Adrian Night is now my husband. RJ heard him but decided to ignore me and flew right into my outstretched arms. "Mama betrayed RJ. Didn't she promise RJ we would land together?" RJ questioned me with his tiny voice, still stuffed into my embrace, his arms locked around me tightly. I even had to bend to his height so he would be comfortable. "Now, sweetheart, we did land together, didn't we?" I asked him, releasing him from the embrace, to admire his cute facials but met a frown on his face. "But not get out of the plane together," he reminded me, his tone raising a little. He even moved away from me, folded his arms like an adult, and looked away with a huff, pretending to be angry. I fought my Chuckle and just kept looking at his face. He looked so much and acted so much like him. When I and Raven just got newly married, at that time, he hadn't started acting like a jerk. Perhaps he was still looking for her. Our marriage was not bad, but it wasn't perfect either, and Raven acted exactly like this when he couldn't get me to do what he wanted. I pulled my little champion close to me and pecked him on the forehead. And like always, it worked like it should. RJ softened immediately, just like his father always softened immediately when I pecked him. I just kept on looking at him, remembering when I brought him into this world. I saw the exact carbon copy of him and even questioned God about whether he wanted to punish me. I thought I would hate, or at least try to hate, but when I heard his tiny, little cries calling for me, his momma. All I could feel at that moment was just love, and I promised myself and him to always be there to take care of him and never leave his side like his father did to me. "How do you feel?" I heard Adrian ask as he moved to stand by my side, standing tall and looking down at me. I contemplated for awhile before replying, my eyes still on RJ, who was looking at both me and Adrian curiously, probably wondering why Adrian was asking how I felt. "Momma, are you sick? Why didn't you inform RJ?" He questioned me, his eyeballs growing so wide, and I laughed, finding him funny. "I am not sick, RJ. Your father was just referring to something else," I explained, and he nodded at me before leaving to go meet his nanny, who suddenly called him. "So inquisitive," Adrian commented as I stood up from my knees. "Just like his father," I blurted out without thinking and realized what I just said—just too late. "I am sorry." I apologized, but he nudged off. "No need to apologize; I understand." He told me, and I breathed out a sign of relief. "Are you ready?" He inquired, and I nodded.RAVEN'S POV."Ugh!" I let out an exhausted groan while relaxing fully on my swivel chair, my palm resting on my forehead. It was already half past 11 p.m., but I made no move about getting up to go home or even having the interest to.' Margaret would be so worried.' My subconscious whispered to me, but I couldn't care less, because these past four years, all I have been thinking of was her."My wife," I murmured to myself, loving how it sounded so right and perfect coming out of my lips, but then I remembered she wasn't my wife any longer, but my ex-wife.Five years ago, I made a very great mistake, if not the biggest in my life. I pushed away the only woman who ever loved me for me and gave up everything in her life just to be with me for a gold digger who had deceived me for years.I was pretty sure Felicity never expected that I would find out the truth. I would get curious at some point about some of her odd behaviors and investigate. Not only was I shocked to discover I was bein
It's been five years.AYSEL'S POV."He accepted our invitation," Adrian informed me as he popped himself down on the couch beside me. My heart surprisingly did a double flip at his words, as I realised I was finally going to be seeing my ex-husband tomorrow, after five good years."Do you think he knows yet?" I enquired from Adrian, turning to look at him with curiosity obvious in my orbs, but Adrian just shrugged, his attention fully on his laptop."I have absolutely no idea, but what I do know is that tomorrow's meeting won't be pleasant," Adrian replied, and I nudged closer to him."How do you know that? He might not even look at me twice once we arrive or be interested in me at all. Remember, he was the one who requested a divorce, and the love of his life still seems to be around," I reminded Adrian, whose side of lips curved up instantly into a dreadful grin."So you don't know," he murmured, more like saying than asking me. My brows rose up, arching at him."Know what?" I quest
AYSEL'S POV CONTINUES.After dropping off RJ at his new school and going through all the formalities, Adrian and I were driven to Raymond's Corporation. As soon as I saw the building, I took a deep breath.Seeing this place and being here once again brought back so many unwanted memories. Like when he proposed to me, he did that at the entrance of the building with the press in attendance. I could remember my eyes sparkling like diamonds as my face glowed with excitement. My heart raced, but I didn't care, as I just screamed the answer he wanted." Yes". I closed my eyes to set back my emotions for a bit, reopened them, and proceeded to get out of the car. Adrian got out, too, and slid his arm around my waist, bringing me closer to him.His hand on my waist felt itchy like little ants were biting me on the flesh, but I just endured because we needed this and tried not to look uncomfortable with a fake smile plastered on my face.We entered the building, and all eyes immediately drift
RAVEN'S POV.I watched from my glass window as she got out of the car elegantly and gracefully. She was putting on a black, tight-fitting dress with a blazer over it. Her bag was held in one hand and her phone in another. She looked nervous and like she was struggling to breathe. He came down too, went over to her, and wrapped his arm around her waist. My hold on my chair tightened. My body went from relaxed to tensed. I just wanted to fly out of this chair, jump down there, and rip his hand away from her, from my wife, and from my property. But that would be too abstract, so I just controlled myself and pinched the inside of my palm to keep myself calm. I also noticed something; she jolted as he wrapped his hand around her, like she was burned.' Could it be that she was uncomfortable with him?' I pondered, a smug finding its way to my face, but then my subconscious decided to ruin everything.' or it just showed how much she is affected by his touch'. My mind was instantly drafted t
I NEED A DIVORCE.AYSEL'S POV.Pain was an understatement; it felt like my heart was being ripped out and handed to me. Tears gathered at the brim of my eyes, my orbs widening; they almost popped out of my socket.'Was this really happening?' I pondered, finding it hard to believe."I need a divorce, Aysel. I have found her, so I no longer have a need for you again." My husband walked in with a strange lady. His grip around her waist tightened, and she told me he needed a divorce."A NEED FOR ME?" I questioned, puzzled, but tried so hard to push my tears back."I don't understand.". He was smiling down at her, love and warmth obvious in his iris for her. I felt jealousy crawling through my heart. Despite our one and a half years of marriage, he has never looked at me in such a manner. He was always cold and expressionless. I could not believe Raven had emotion. His smile dropped at my words, and his expression strained with a mix of annoyance and frustration as he growled at me, fury
AYSEL'S POV CONTINUES.I moved across the street, freezing and trembling. I was just in my gown, the silk, curvy gown I had worn earlier to impress my husband, but all in all, it backfired.I was not allowed to take anything, not even a jacket, on this winter night. I was just manhandled and thrown out into the streets by the guards, despite my pleas. He didn't even look backward. I sat outside the mansion for awhile, looking at the building with tears dripping from my eyes. I had hoped he would realize his mistakes and come back to me, but those were just wishes. When I began feeling too cold, I left the estate, roaming about and looking for a place to spend the night before I froze out there. I wasn't ready for death yet.I was weeping and clutching my arms all over my body in the hope it would help prevent the cold. It was an estate, so I couldn't find any left-over open space to spend the night. I had to walk all the way down to the bristling street, filled with peasants and homel
AYSEL'S POV CONTINUES."I can help you seek revenge, but on one condition." He told me, staring at my face, probably observing my expression, so I tried to be as neutral as possible."Who are you?" I proceeded to ask first because no one was as kind to appear out of nowhere and offer to help me get revenge. Besides, he seemed to have an ulterior motive. He chuckled."Is that really the most important thing now?" He questioned me, and I nodded at him."I don't deal with strangers, even if I am desperate." I told him."Very well, then. My name is Adrian Night, owner of Night's Construction Company. Your husband, or should I say ex-husband since you two are divorced?" He stated this, and his words felt like a jab to my heart."Is it my biggest rival who stole ideas from me, and I am set to get back at him?" Adrian explained, his eyes growing dark as he clenched his fists. I had this nagging feeling something was not wrong, but because I wasn't in my right state of mind, I ignored the gu
