Seventy Six

Mike stared at the building that looked like it was about to fall apart. The color was faded, and he couldn’t tell what color it used to be; bushes surrounded it like no one cared to take care of the surroundings. It was wide, and he was sure it would be dangerous for children. The long bushes could easily house dangerous animals like snakes or scorpions, but that didn’t seem to concern whoever was managing it.

How could somewhere so unkempt be referred to as an orphanage? Wouldn’t it be better to have the children living somewhere else?

Steve scrunched his nose beside him, “Are you sure we are at the right place?”

Mike would have asked that question, too, if he hadn’t seen the ‘Made Orphanage’ signboard while they were driving in.
