LEAH’S POV

Their faces immediately darkened upon hearing my statement. The air around us grew heavy with tension.

Hudson took a slow, deliberate step toward me, his figure now looming over me like a shadow before I heard him spoke in a low and dangerous tone.

"What did you say, again?"

My words caught in my throat as my gaze rose, and I clutched at my chest, trying to remain in control. Yet I couldn’t find the courage to speak again.

Brixton's eyes locked onto mine, his voice laced with disbelief. "I can't believe this…"

There was an intensity on his stare that made my heart pound so nervously.

"When did we ever say that we don't want anything to do with you... or the kids?

I grew still in my spot, feeling my whole body turn numbed hearing his statement. His words appeared to keep echoing in my thoughts, further adding to the confusion. My mind was a whirlpool of emotions, swirling in every direction in an attempt to make sense of the situation.
