16: LET’S GET MARRIED

ETHAN

I sat there frozen, my mind lost in thoughts.

She was what?

I looked down at her expressionless, with no words at all, not even saying a thing.

She looked up at me, and I could see her eyes holding pain and hurt.

“I…I don’t k…know what to do” she said as tears flowed down from her eyes.

“This is all because of you!!” She screamed at me.

“You”

“I…i hate you” she said as she began to hit my chest with her little soft hands.

“Where am I going to start from? Why is life so hard for me? What did I ever do to deserve this?” She asked, looking at me for answers.

I sat there speechless.

My eyes could not contain the pain i felt at that moment.

I was causing her so much pain?

“Why do you say so?” I asked as i gently grabbed her chin, urging her to look up at me.

Her eyes were pretty, more than I had ever seen before.

Her face smeared with tears did little to nothing to how pretty she looked.

She was mesmerizing.

I wanted her to be mine. Mine, mine alone.

All mine.

“You are the father of this child” she said as she brought me out of my thoughts.

Immediately, my mind went to that night and what we had.

I looked at her, the images flooding right back, more vivid.

Her pretty little face and her soff moans.

I groaned as i felt a bulge in my pants. I shook my head trying to ignore the feelings i felt, this wasn’t the right time for this.

This was my mistake, and I had to fix this.

“Let’s get married”

I said as i looked at her deep in the eye.

She looked confused, and shocked. She moved back slowly, her eyes widened in shock.

“What?” She said as she slowly stood up.

“What are you saying?” She added, this time looking more confused than shocked.

“I want to be your husband” i said as i stood up.

“You are kidding right? Are you nuts?” She asked, this time pacing around.

“Why would you say something like that? Marry you? I don’t even know you” she said her voice laced with confusion.

I walked over to her, stopping her from pacing around as i held her shoulders softly. My grip a little bit firm.

“For a start, i am your husband’s elder brother, my name’s Ethan” i said.

“Exactly!! You are my husband’s brother. Isn’t that enough reason to think you sound stupid?” She said releasing my grip from her shoulders.

“You are carrying my child, what’s there to think about?” I asked.

“There’s a lot to think about Ethan, i am still married to your brother” she said.

“And besides all these were never supposed to happen, i was never supposed to go into that club that night, was never supposed to sleep with you, every freaking thing was never supposed to happen” she said, her eyes holding pain as tears began to stream down her eyes.

“I don’t care, he didn’t treat you right and i want to be there for you, i want you to be mine” i said as i held her hand.

“Why exactly do you want to marry me? I mean we barely know each other, i am pretty sure you don’t even know my name” she asked me.

She looked at me, her pretty almond eyes searching for answers.

Just as i was about to give an answer, i got a call. I brought out my phone and looked at the caller id, it was Ryan.

I groaned, i had totally forgotten about the meeting i was supposed to have with the investors.

“Where the h*ll are you Ethan? Everyone is freaking waiting for you” he said on the phone.

“You know how important this is for us so why do you want to fuck it up?” He asked.

“Cancel the meeting” i said without hesitation.

“What?” He said.

“Ethan what are you saying? You know how important this meeting is for us” he added, anger laced in his tone.

“Cancel the damn meeting Ryan, I don’t care”. I said as i hung up the call.

I took a deep breath, and looked at her.

“I’m sorry, that was my friend Ryan, i am supposed to be at a meeting right now”

“Look it’s my fault this happened and i want to take responsibility for my actions, I want to make you mine, to take care of you” i said.

“Will you marry me?” I asked, my palms sweaty and mind racing with curiosity.

I was calmly waiting for her answer, just one answer to my question.

She looked at me, her eyes firm.

“I’ll think about it”

My heart dropped.
