Alexa's POV

“Father, Mother. Next time, I'll face the shadow Wolves with my warriors.”

Mother gasped, “How is that possible?”

“It is. I want to be strong for my pack.”

“Then If you must go to war, we'll go with you.” Father said, looking at mother for reassurance and she nodded.

“No, father, mother. Let me do it. I want to be a strong foundation for Deep into the woods, if I go to war for their sake, it isn't that bad.”

“Of course you're right but we can't let you go alone because its too dangerous. Apart from that, you are way too young to go to war.”

“Yes,” mother confirmed. “I understand you sending Zaria North because she's way older than you but you yourself are important to the pack. As that very important figure, you should be very aware of your position. Don't take any unnecessary risks. That's what the warriors, Beta and Gamma are for.”

“I don't care about the hierarchy decorations. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter much. What matters to me is the safety and well-bei

Alexa's POV“You're dismissed.” I told her and she turned around to leave. I sighed and continued to work in my office while thinking about Zaria North and her straightforwardness. If I did have to say it again, I would. She was a little too strict for me and not in a good way. I really hoped she would relax soon and be just like she used to be before.Even if that did not happen, I would support her to the best of my abilities. That was how strong and capable I qualified myself enough to be. Even if Zaria North cofounded in her newlyfounded stubbornness, I would be the one to bring her out of it, or maybe Arthur would get ahead of me and be the one to snap her out of it.Arthur's POVI was ecstatic that Zaria was back and I couldn't bring myself to hide all of the happiness that I was feeling within me.“How do I do this?” I murmured to myself while pacing around my office to and fro. “How do I make Zaria North like me again? Even the Alpha supports me going after Zaria. How do I do

Arthur's POVI did some work with the few minutes that I had left and once it was 4:30pm, I took a chunk of money from my office drawer. There was no way I was going to let Zaria pay for anything on our date, although I did knew that she would bring her own money and that alone was laughable in my own perspective. I would never let Zaria lift a single finger to pay for anything on her date.I went to Zaria's office and then knocked.“Come in.”Her voice was soothing and calming. I exhaled and then opened the door revealing Zaria. She was sitting behind her desk looking through papers.“I don't understand why you're working hard after just coming back from war.”Zaria shrugged her hands. “it's not the Alpha's option. She told me to get some rest but I prefer working.” Now that sounded like Zaria.I hesitated, not wanting to push her away with my words.“I know you prefer working, Zaria. But would you please go out with me? It would only take one hour.”“Sure.” When Zaria North answere

Arthur's POVHowever, I did not even have the time to convince her because she snatched my truck key from my hand and stormed off.The waiter came over with mine and Zaria's food.He placed it on the table and smiled at me but I couldn't bring myself to smile back. I brought out some money from my pouch and handed it over to the waiter.“Sorry, this seems to be more than enough.” He said after receiving a lot of money from me.“It's okay. Pack up the food in a takeaway bag and send them to me.”“I see, sir.” He said and I nodded, feeling bad about how I'd just ruined my date.Once the waiter was back with the takeaway items, I grabbed it from him and jogged outside only to see Zaria North pull off with my truck. I could only sigh.It would be a long walk back then.“How do I manage to get her to stop being mad at me after I got back?I could only wonder. As was strolling around the marketplace, I saw a fish green necklace.“Come and buy come and buy, good store bought necklaces. Arthur's POVI hesitated at the warrior's words but then I agreed. “Fine but you better make it quick.”We walked outside and then the warrior began to speak.“Gamma you're not going to believe me when I tell you this but the Beta is dead.”I froze up immediately, “What do you mean? Zaria is clearly alive.”“When we were at the battle front, I was trying to find a leeway so I hid somewhere and found the Beta get stabbed by some woman who I'm guessing is a witch.”I felt ridiculed by the warrior, how could he say such words? It didn't make any sense at all. In my opinion, Zaria was just mortified by going to the war front which was why she was probably acting weird. There was nothing wrong with her like I was thinking.“Look,” I told the warrior, “Don't say such rubbish to me again, if you do, I'll report you to your superior.” I said and started to walk away. The warrior gave me a sad look. “B-but,” I could tell that he wanted to say more but I ignored him.“Gamma please wait a bit l

Arthur's POV“Go get my new mother, father. I am telling you.”Tears of joy streamed down my face and I suddenly felt like things were coming together for me.“Oh, you're such a cute little…” I walked over to my son and pulled him into a hug. From now on, we would finally have a family. No more would we be divided or treated in isolation and most importantly, my son wouldn't have to grow alone. He'd have a strong woman to be his mother. I wondered if Zaria North would be pleased with me enough to take my son as hers. I really hoped she would.“Thank you so much, son.” I said. Him speaking to me almost gave me like the strength to continue to push on and to never give up.“I'm grateful for you, my son. I really am.”“Alright, that's enough.” My son pushed me away from his body after a while. “I'd rather continue painting than let you embarrass me with a hug. “You should also spend the extra time trying to court mom rather than get emotional with me in my room.”I pulled away from my so

Arthur's POVWe both headed to my truck and then drove to town. I expected that we would engage in more conversation but that wasn't what happened. But although there wasn't much engagement in our conversation, I enjoyed Zaria's company.Once we finally got to the shop where army gear were sold, I was excited. The shopkeeper approached us and Zaria took hold of the conversation.“How much is an army gear,”“Ma'am our shop has six types. If you don't mind, could you come with me to take a look at it in the storage room?”“Yes,” I answered and walked in the shop with the shopkepper and Zaria. Inside the shop there were multitudes of gears that looked so beautiful and customised. The shopkeeper started introducing the gears to us and then he explained their usages and how much they were worth. After learning these things, I was content because we had achieved our goals for the day which meant that we could spend the remainder of time we had left on other things. As Zaria and I walked ou

Arthur's POVThe next day I was excited that I went to my office to work fo clear up my schedule for the day. I didn't know why I got a positive answer from Zaria but I sure was glad that the answer I got from her was positive.“How have you been?” One of the warriors asked me once they were finally in my office.“Good. What's the latest gist about the warriors?” I looked at the warrior closely for the first time, it was then that I realized that he was a familiar face. He was the one who told me that nonsense about Zaria.“Boss, you have to listen to me.”I sighed. “If it's about that nonsense that you said to me that day then I don't believe you. Get out of my office, I have some work to get to.” I said.“Please Gamma, you might be letting the enemy into our camp. I just came to inform you that I see unfamiliar faces mingle with the rest of us. In Deep into the woods, we warriors know each other's faces but I haven't met anyone like I'm seeing, before.”“Then you haven't mingled ha

Zaria's POV“You look so beautiful, Zaria.” Arthur's son told me and I smiled while nodding, “Thank you.” Then I showed him the ring on my ring finger. “Your father and I are about to get married soon.”He nodded, “I know.”“You know?”“Yes. My father has been stuck up on you from a very long time ago. About time you finally picked up the glasses and tie the knot, you two.”I smiled. Good thing Arthur was stuck up on me that he even let me be alone with his son. Others could call that love but I would call it recklessness. He didn't look at me well enough to know my hidden intentions, so it was his fault that I was doing this to him. He brought all this trouble upon himself. Oh what a pity it was that his son was dying young.“So what do you do after work?” Arthur’s son walked around Zaria and she answered. “I paint.”Arthur's son smiled, “You do? Me too!”‘Even better!’ Zaria thought to herself as the boy walked towards her with a smile on his face.“I would like to see a painting o

Alexa's POV “It doesn't matter what I think, Alexa. You're the one born with the gift that's why I want you to please work together with me. We can take over the world and no one would ever be able to stop us. You are a star Witch.”“You're my brother,” I said, still in shock as that was true. I had found that out but myself.“Call me Edward,” he said causing my jaw to drop.“What?”“My name is Edward.”“Well Edward I don't know what to do concerning you. You are my brother?! That's crazy. My parents, I mean, our parents never told me that they gave birth to a boy.”“That's probably because they didn't want you to be any sadder If they told you that your twin brother is missing.”“Twin brother?” I said, feeling shocked a second time.“We're twins?!” I asked.“Yes,” he nodded, “And stop acting so surprised everytime, it's annoying.”“I see.” I answered, but then I said, “We're really siblings. That is amazing. And not amazing at the same time. If you knew that we were related all this

Alexa's POV“I don't know what to believe.” I said.“I'll leave you to it.” He said and turned around to leave. It was then that I remembered what exactly that I came here for. I couldn't let the death of the white wolf be in vain. Also, Zaria was dead. And there was nothing that I could do to ever bring her back. So now my focus should be on my pack, Deep into the woods and how to make it prosperous again without any interference from the shadow Wolves.“Wait,” I said causing the Shadow Wolves leader to halt in his steps.“What?” He asked before looking at me.“If you don't have any magic then how come you don't react to my magic?” I asked.“Oh,” he turned to me. “Ever since I was little, I always carry a little pendant with me which makes me immune to magic. I don't know who gave it to me but somehow it always works and protects me when I'm in danger. It's like a little pocket charm.” He said. “By the way,” I said, “I want to you to stop attacking Deep into the woods.” “And what w

Alexa's POVI raised a hand up in the air in surrender. “I'm not here to hurt anyone, I am here to talk to your leader.” I said, causing the werewolves to look amongst each other.“Who are you, fools?” One of the werewolves yelled out loud.I said at the top of my lungs, “I am the Alpha of Deep into the woods and I have come here to see your leader,” I said out loud causing the werewolves to look amongst each other.I continued, “I know that you are the Shadow Wolves and that you have beef with my pack but regardless of all of your trespasses. I have come here to announce a truce with your leader.”One of the Shadow Wolves scoffed, “Attack!”They all sped towards me and I stretched my hands forth causing magic to explode out of me causing them to all fall back to this ground with blood gushing out of their mouths. They were all dead.I looked to the while wolf beside me and it howled. I stepped over the dead bodies and continued to walk ahead over to see more shadow Wolves rushing tow

Alexa's POVPhillip looked nervous so I whispered unto him, “Raise up your head. This moment will determine how long you will be respected by everyone.”He did as I said and raised his head up. I focused my gaze on the crowd. “Everyone, I would like you to put a hand together for Phillip North. He put his life as risk to find out the truth that Alpha Nate was with the enemy. Because of him we know who our enemies are and who our friends are.” I said and they all applauded him.“I would also like to announce to you all that Phillip would be the Beta of Deep into the woods, I hope you all listen to him as well as you listen to me.” I said. There was a little bit of hesitation amongst the crowd. After all, most of them were aware of what had happened in the pack with Zaria North. However, some clapped and I instantly knew that Phillip would have some problem controlling the people and ruling them but I also knew that he would have to prove himself. Only then would he be accepted.“Every

Alexa's POV I was in my office working but then I summoned Martha and asked her to call me Phillip. She went on to carry my request and a few minutes later, Phillip was in my office.“You called me, Alpha?” He said with caution.“Yes, I did.” I said before gesturing for him to sit down. He did as I urged with his eyes widened in anticipation for what I would say next.“What's the problem?” He asked.“I choose today to officially make you my beta.”“But why what's the hurry?”“I just thought about it and to be frank with you, I don't like how everything in my pack is moving so I decided that I would go to meet the leader of the shadow Wolves. That's the only way that the pack would ever make progress. I'm tired of people dying on me.”“Alpha, that is dangerous. Is there anyone else you've spoken about this to?”“Just you, Phillip.”Phillip cleared his throat, “How is the baby doing?”“Good. But the most important thing here isn't me or the baby. It's the pack. I was entrusted Deep int

Alexa's POVI shuddered, feeling as though there was something wrong in the moment. How could Arthur say that. After all he said about Zaria North?I stood up from the chair.“Arthur, you said Zaria killed your son and now you're saying you don't think she killed your son?” I said, feeling absolutely disgusted by what Arthur was saying.“Now that Zaria is dead you're changing your mind?”“It's exactly because she's dead that I think she didn't kill my son. How could she do that and kill herself, it doesn't make sense at all to me!”“What makes sense then Arthur, tell me?”“I think Zaria was controlled before she died. One of the warriors told me that she died during the war but she was brought back to life. I didn't believe him but now that she's dead, I think he might be onto something.”“She told me something similar before she died but I…” I trailed off, while thinking deeply. “I don't know.” I said while exhaling. I sat back down on my chair and said to Arthur, “Can you please cal

Alexa's POVI had a great time talking with my father but I had to get involved in some other responsibilities so I went to Phillip in the clinic where he was in and in his room I saw the nurse attending to him. I sat down in my chair until the nurse was done.Once she left, I turned to Phillip and he smiled. “I'm healing quite fast, Alpha, so you don't have to worry.”“I see.” I said, then it was the perfect time for me to break the news forth to him then.I sighed, feeling tears threaten to fall but I gathered myself. I was the Alpha of Deep into the woods, I could not falter, I was the Alpha so I had to be strong even though nobody else was.“I have to tell you something, Phillip.”“Oh, what is it? Alpha?”“Your sister, Zaria North is dead.”He looked at me, disbelief crossing his expressions. “That's a lie. What?”“It's true.” I said, nodding frankly.Phillip's eyes because red at once. Alexa's POVWhen I left the prison, I went straight to my room and got under the covers but I couldn't sleep. I felt as though something was wrong. With much inner battle within myself, I took a step to drink some milk and then I finally slept off…When I woke up the next morning, I went refreshed more than ever but a tiny urge sat there for me to remain under the covers but I resisted the urge. So I took a shower and got dressed in my normal clothes then I went to my office and Martha had already replaced my files. I didn't know what to do. I still hadn't thought of what to do with Alpha Nate. He'd betrayed me of course but his betrayal made no sense to me. Unless he knew about my powers and tried to use me to fulfill his own selfish motives. However, I wouldn't know because I didn't even get to ask him. But with the rate at which things were accelerating, if I didn't put a quick stop to what was going on with the Shadow Wolves things could get worse and more people could betray. Who

Alexa's POVShe stood up from the floor she was sitting on and looked at me with tears cascading down her cheeks.“You wouldn't understand,” she sobbed, “I didn't know.”I shook my head at her. “Alpha Nate is in collision with the Shadow Wolves too. What do you know about that?” I asked. She shook her head at that agressively. “Nothing I swear!”“Tell me everything you know, Zaria. Did you decide to betray me because I didn't give you everything you wanted? Instead I chased you out of the pack to represent the shadow Wolves. Did you regret being affiliated with Deep into the woods so you met with their leader instead and did his dirty deeds so he could let you go?” I asked with my eyes glowing with tears. But I stubbornly wiped the tears. There was no way I would cry because of Zaria. She wasn't worthy of my tears.Zaria suddenly stumbled back in the prison cell and her eyes widened. She clenched onto the side of her top and said, ”I remember now.”My eyes widened.“Tell me,” I said.
