Emily jerked up once she heard the telephone ringing in her room.

Barbara’s early morning visit still had a great effect on her and despite how much she tried to feel better, she only got worse.

“You must be out of your mind to be in your room by this time. Get your ass here now!” Emily heard Barbara’s furious voice from the other end of the phone.
