Chapter 263

The day for the press conference arrived a lot more sooner that Emily had thought or imagined.

She had pondered over what Richard had said all through that day, and she couldn’t help but feel tensed about it.

The morning started on a bad note for Emily. Barbara had called her out with anger visible in her voice, yelling at her as though she had made a grievous mistake.

“Did you clean here?” Barbara had asked Emily who looked at the clock.

It was just 5:am and she was heating up the atmosphere with her voice and yells.

“I did so yesterday”, Emily replied, trying so hard to keep her voice calm.

“Then, how about today?” Barbara asked, raising her voice as though she wanted to throw a punch across to Emily.

“Today just started, ma’am”, Emily said with a cracked voice, wondering why she was so tensed and heated.

“Today just started? And you were still sleeping as though you had no work to do?” Barbara barked angrily and inasmuch as Emily made to talk, she had no option other than to gulp
