Chapter 140

Emily got out of the cab and hurriedly squeezed the test papers into her clothes.

She wasn’t ready to divulge such news with Richard, until she was certain of what his response would be.

It was big news, especially because Barbara refused having a child for him. However, it bothered Emily when she thought of what the future of her child would be and if he would be accepted by his father.

“Emily! How are you?” Richard asked as he rushed towards her and tried to hold her.

Emily pushed him away and hastened her footsteps towards her quarters.

“Emily, listen to me!” Richard was saying when she swirled around and gaped at him.

“No! You listen to me. I need you to leave me alone, just leave me alone!” Emily yelled on the top of her lungs and ignored Barbara, who was standing at the balcony and paying attention to the details of their conversation.

“I’m sorry”, Richard said, but Emily kept walking away.

She made to close the door on his face, but his feet held up the door.
