Synopsis

In the light of this reflection and for the sake of her unborn child, Helen escapes by the moonlight and leaves the pack. Once out of the pack's safety, she is accosted by rogues. Helen, the weak omega that she is, cannot defend herself and awaits capture before a saviour in person of her new lover comes to her rescue. Helen becomes a slave to Alpha Damian as the only way to remain alive after her dad commits treason by revealing crucial information to a rival pack. Alpha Damian is desperate for an heir and when Helen finally discovers she's pregnant for him, someone has beaten her to the task already and Helen finally realises the worthlessness of her life as a slave and baby making tool. Helen makes her escape from the pack and is attacked by rogue werewolves only to be saved by a werewolf from another pack. A couple of years later and Helen has become a renowned detective and writer, living happily with her saviour and son. Everything appears to be going smoothly till children start getting attacked by rogues. As such, help is enlisted from Alpha Damian’s pack, a deliberate move from Alpha Damian, on the condition that Helen returns to his pack, under the guise that her detective skills are urgently needed. Helen's hesitancy disappears when her son goes missing, and she is forced to collaborate with Alpha Damian. Secrets are yet to unfold and Helen must watch her back because the enemy might be closer than she thinks. For how long can she fight the growing bond between the Alpha and herself? And will Helen be able to protect everyone she loves in the end?

Chapter 1 : The doctor's news

Helen's POVI was still reeling in shock from the doctor's news to me. I held the test results in my hands but still could not believe it.I was pregnant, I was really pregnant! This had been the reason for the weird way I had been feeling going on for some weeks now.“Yes ma’am.” The doctor beamed. “The tests do not lie.”The doctor was still smiling as I took my leave. He should have been used to announcing such news to people by now so why did he seem so glad about it?I found myself mirroring the doctor's smile once I got out of his office, clutching the test results so tight.I could not believe it. The father of my child was none other than Alpha Damian, our powerful pack leader. Alpha Damian for some years now had been desperate to have a child and no woman had been successful enough, but here I was now, bearing the good news. The taxi ride home had me lost in thoughts as the car flew past the road to the Alpha's house. It could be said it was my home also as I lived with the A...

Chapter 2 : Rejection
Once I had taken care of the guest room, sweeping the floors, dusting and tidying up everywhere, I was finally able to think and cry. I locked myself up in the bathroom and let the tears flow freely.Just as I thought I now had a reason to smile, just as I believed there would be a splash of colour in my otherwise gloomy life, the opportunity had been snatched away from me. Someone else had been faster. Now Damian would have no reason to even notice me anymore.I eventually pulled myself together and rinsed my face at the sink, staring at my sad puffy-eyed face for a moment in the mirror just overhead before venturing out. When I stepped out of the bathroom at last, it was quiet in the house. The rest of the household must have retired to bed. I made my way to my own room which was just a small space with bare walls and the only few belongings I owned on this earth.I stepped into the space and reached for the socket. I switched it on and let out a loud yelp. Alpha Damian was on my be

Chapter 3 : The escape and the attack
It should have occured to me long ago to do this. I had nothing to lose, nothing to hold me back. And I had no mate to hope on now that mine had rejected me.A couple of hours into the start of the new day and I was outside, holding unto a small bag containing the few possessions I owned, slung over my shoulders as I made sure to stick to the shadows of the Alpha's mansion, crawling stealthily away. The glow of the moon was bright as it was a full moon. The night was chilly and eerily silent as though invisible ghosts watched my escape mission with bated breaths, cheering me on silently to be victorious. This was a silly thought but it strengthened me.Once I got to the main road, I looked back at the looming mansion now a reasonable distance away from me. Every light remained switched off, and there was no commotion or loud voices coming from it. I hadn't been noticed. Yet.I should be on my feet, running away as fast I could, but I stood still, hesitating. Moving on was a huge step

Chapter 4 : The chosen one
Kai dropped me off at Wolf-Thorne Police station named after the pack's name, Wolf-Thorne. It was a bright and clear morning as I gave him a goodbye peck and stepped out of the car to my work place, waving goodbye to my son in the backseat. Kai was going to drop him off at his elementary school which was still quite a distance from the station.Seven years had made a lot of changes for me. I had gone through training as a police officer, eventually getting promoted to a fully certified detective. And I loved my job so much being one where I got to bring the bad guys to justice under the law.I loved the excitement that a fresh case brought, be it a serial killer, or an unexplained suicide, or a suspicious death. The thrill that came with getting leads and getting closer to the end of an ongoing case was unmatched by anything else and when it was finally over, it left me with the feeling of winning a battle.Nine out of ten times the cases were successfully handled and solved. And with

Chapter 5 : Kidnapped
All hell was let loose. In my mind at least. I wanted to scream at him but I was surrounded by curious eyes and prying ears.I felt immensely betrayed. Kai of all people knew the sorry life I had led in the Moon City pack. He knew the condition in which I left and that my son was their damn Alpha's child. He clearly knew that I had no thoughts of ever returning.“Why did you do that?” I demanded, struggling to keep my voice calm. “Why? You know how horrible that pack was to me so bloody why?”He sighed but he wasn't remorseful. “I was just being helpful.”“Helpful my ass.” I gritted my teeth in anger.“We'll talk later. My time is up.” And he abruptly cut the call, the bit about me having news of my own forgotten.Too right, we will talk, because who was he to make important life decisions like this for me, even when he knew my sanity was at stake. My sullen mood was easily noticed by my fellow officers but I kept mute, not willing to divulge any information. The very moment my shift
