Alpha Joe's POV

I examined his face closely. He let out a sigh and met my gaze, his eyes remaining as dark as before.

"You're referring to Lilith, My Prince," he said, gazing into the distance, "unfortunately, she's no longer with us."

I couldn't believe my ears. I needed to confirm if we were discussing the same girl. Doubt crept in, and I wanted to be certain he understood which girl I meant.

"I apologize, but I need to ensure we're on the same page," I said, taking a step closer to him.

"Well, I believe we are. You mentioned she served you drinks the last time you visited, is that correct?" he asked, a hint of seriousness in his tone.

"Yes, you're correct. She was the only one here at that time, as I arrived late and was in disguise," I confirmed.

"Very well, then it must be Lilith. Other than the girls I just showed you, she was the only other female worker we used to have," he mentioned, and the way he spoke those words, "used to have," hinted that he was concealing some pain.
