Chapter 157.

LOGAN’S POV

We returned to the palace as soon as the sun rose. I didn’t get enough sleep in the palace of the howling dawn pack because the crows flying by wouldn’t stop cawing. So I decided to sleep some more in my room.

I woke up at noon. Around two o’clock. When I got up from the bed, my body felt heavier than normal. I had thought it was my heavy coat and blazer, so I took them off hoping that this irritating feeling would come to an end but I was wrong. The heaviness in my body wasn’t because of my heavy clothes. It was definitely something else.

“What’s wrong?” Gertrude asked. “You just took off your coat and now you’re checking yourself in the mirror. Are you perhaps going on a date?”

No

“When will you ever quit saying rubbish?” I asked angrily.

“Probably, never,” he replied truthfully. “And besides, I’ve never seen you act this way. That’s why I assumed you were going on a date.”

“So you mean that there’s no other assumption to what I’m doing than a date?“ I asked.

“Exactly!”
