NOEL’S POV

“Alpha Logan and his comrades haven’t even batted an eye. Are you sure they’re still alive?” Howard asked.

“You worry too much, Howard. Of course they’re still alive. Do you think it’s that easy kill for them? They’re his prestigious men for crying out loud,” I said confidently because I know the type of wolves they are.

“Prestigious men? These men that Alpha Logan call his prestigious men-they aren’t ordinary wolves, are they?” He asked, wearing a curious look on his face.

“No, they aren’t. Their fighting style and battle experience are more fascinating than any wolf,” I replied.

“Does that mean that they’re far more ranked wolves than an elite wolf?” He asked.

“Of course. Most of them are even above Alpha levels. They always say that a student will surpass his master as time goes on but this case is different. There’s no way any of them will ever surpass Logan,” I said as I chuckled.

“You know, they were ten of them, originally. Most of them died from an ambush or during

Laura's POVI stared at the scroll in my hand and could not help the feeling of uneasy that enveloped me. The scribbled inky words were a stark contrast to Logan's handwriting.Had he written this response or asked someone to because I could swear that this was not his writing? Something seems off, from the writing, to the message it conveyed.“Is everything alright?” Jayde asked, coming to stand beside me.“I don't know, but something seems wrong about this message.” I replied.“Let me see,” Jayde requested, and I handed the scroll into her outstretched hand.“Hmm,” Jayde mumbled thoughtfully. “Of all the times I have read Logan's letters to you, this particular one seems odd. It lacks his tone, handwriting, and even the signature looks wobbly and forged.”“I know, right? But, no one can send this letter if it is not Logan.”“That's right. No one can have access to his Royal scroll and ink except himself.” Jayde.A lengthy silence descended as I contemplated the letter's request.“Wh

NOEL'S POV“They are here, Alpha.” Howard appeared by my side and whispered.“That's good news,” I replied with a smirk. “Let's go,” I added.I rose from the throne chair and let Howard lead me towards the spacious hallway, and we took a turn that led to a room close to the attic. We stopped at a door, and the soldiers, flanked on both sides, instantly bowed their heads in reverence.A smile of satisfaction crossed my mouth. This is precisely how I had envisaged my life to be. Commanding so much respect and influence, but unfortunately, my late father only saw me fit as a good soldier and not worthy to ascend the throne. But all that doesn't matter anymore because look at me, after years of planning, I have finally overthrown his favorite son and usurped the throne.Howard inserted a key into the keyhole and turned the door open. We stepped inside and were ushered into a dark, spacious room. The room had a stale smell and reeked of dust.Howard walked to a corner of the room and pulle

NOEL'S POVI made my way to the room Jayde and Laura were held captive and just like I had envisaged, they were lying on their stomach, writing in pain.Their blouses we're rolled up to the necks to reveal the wounds and welts my men's whipping had engraved on them.My eyes strayed, and they landed on the whips in my men's hands, and the sight of flesh on them got me nodding my head in satisfaction.“Excuse us,” I signalled to my men. They bowed in allegiance and quickly exited the room.“Well, well, we meet again, Jayde and Laura. Did you enjoy the brief session with my men?” I asked, cocking my brows.“What do you want…” Laura asked, her lips trembling as she grunted in pain.“That's the exact question I have been wanting to hear from you, but it took you so long to ask,” I said, a mischievous smile playing on my lips.“Spill it, you bastard!” Jayde groaned, rolling to her side.An amused expression crossed my features as I walked over to her and stepped on her hand. She let out a l

NOEL'S POVAs I walked towards the dungeon, I did my best to keep my emotions in check, but it was a failed battle because my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.Despite having defeated Logan and his men, I was still wary of him and what he was capable of. I was almost at the door when I halted and beckoned a soldier nearby. He hurried to me and bowed in reverence. I leaned in closer to him and whispered a few words. He nodded and hurried away. While waiting for the soldier to deliver my message, my mind inadvertently trailed to Logan. How can one man possess such strength? I knew he was going to wake up soon, but not anytime soon because he had inhaled a reasonable quantity of the gas. My thoughts were interrupted by the appearance of Howard beside me, bearing a vial that contained a green mixture.I looked at the vial, and somewhat got the courage to pull at the dungeon's door and let us in.Howard and I were ushered into a spacious room whose only ventilation was a high, small wind

NOEL'S POVWith a swift motion, I plunged the scalpel into Logan's thighs, drawing a scream from the bound Alpha. The scalpel was not an ordinary one, it was laced with wolf's bane, a deadly poison that weakens and inflicts pains on wolves. As a matter of fact, all the torture tools were laced with one deadly poison or the other.I ignored the sound, my focus solely on inflicting as much pain as possible on Logan. As the torture continued, I could feel Gertrude's eyes on me as he watched the sadistic side of me come to the forefront. I bet he couldn't believe what he was seeing, but he knew better than to intervene. He was just a head after all.“Just watch what I will do to you when it gets to your turn, stupid head.” I snarled at him.I was in a rage, and nothing would stop me until I had satisfied my need for vengeance.Logan's helpless screams of anguish rented the dungeon's room, reverberating through the walls and sending shivers to whomever that heard them.Gertrude, on the oth

JAYDE'S POVI let Laura sob her heart out, gently whispering soothing words in her ears. At that moment, I didn't give a damn about being stark naked with a female I have come to love, pressed tightly against me.My initial anger was nowhere to be found as it was replaced by concern as to why Laura was crying that much.Minutes later, her cries receded to gentle sobs, and soon, her sobs were reduced to gentle whimpering. The rhythmic rising and falling of her chest against mine, elicited some strange feeling inside of me.“Now is not the time to feel anything silly. Focus!” I chide myself.Slowly, Laura disengaged from the hug and that was when her eyes widened at the realization that I was naked.“OMG! I didn't mean to,” she apologized, shutting her eyes tightly as she turned away from me.I couldn't help but chuckle. I totally understand and I was not mad at her and I told her so.“I…I will wait for you in the room while you finish up,” she rushed the words, and before I could give

JAYDE'S POV“What are you going to do?” Laura asked, her eyes glimmering with fear.“I honestly have no idea,” I whispered back.“I can hear you, no matter how hard you try to whisper.” Howard called out. “Step out, or I will break this door down. You don't want that, do you?”I sighed in resignation and stood up, despite Laura's protests.“I'm coming out now,” I announced.“You don't have to go, Jayde. Please stay back,” Laura pleaded, her eyes misty.“Shh…” I chided, and placed a finger on her lips. “I won't be long. I will be back before you know it. Make sure you don't miss me.” I said, trying to make light of the situation, even though I was damn worried on why Noel had summoned me to his chambers.Laura nodded, and I walked out of the room. Howard's scowling face greeted me, but I ignored him and walked ahead.“Trying to act brave, huh?” He smirked, falling in step with me.I ignored him completely and kept walking like I knew my way to Noel's chambers.“Drop the act. AMBER'S POVIt's been two months since Alice left, and in intervals, my heart involuntarily trailed off with thoughts of her. I wondered when she was going to be back.Although we exchange letters occasionally, it still was not equivalent to her presence and the moments we spent together. Now, without her, I felt lost and isolated once again. I missed her laughter, her scoldings, her advice, and the comfort of having another friend aside Beth, in this unfamiliar pack.Beth was kind, but we do not share the same chemistry I shared with Alice. Suddenly, I heard a deafening clattering sound of something breaking, and I instantly jerked up from the chair I was seated in, my thoughts momentarily forgotten.Glancing over at the direction the noise came from, I was met with the sight of Grandal hastily crawling towards a thousand pieces of shards of glasses that were once a ceramic China flower vase.Panic rose like bile in the pit of my stomach as I rushed over to him. Frantically, I scoop

LOGAN'S POVIt's been a week since Amber and I were joined by the mating bond in the mating ceremony. The preceding days have been nothing but blissful. Carrying Grandal everywhere with me, even to court meetings with the elders of the pack. It felt like I was trying to make up for the times that we were apart from each other. As for Amber, she glowed every day, blossoming like a flower. Every day, I set my eyes on her, I can't help but desire to take her to bed and make love to her.But then, I didn't mean to rush things. I had treated her badly in the past, sexually, and would want our sexual encounters henceforth to be better. It was a bright cool morning and I prepared for my meeting with the elders. We had a lot to deliberate on, and I wouldn't want to keep them waiting.I arrived at the pack's house, the sun slowly rising from its abode in the sky. I walked into the hall and the elders were already seated, their faces expectant.I exchanged pleasantries with them, as I took my s

I could not believe that after such a while, I was finally reunited with them.“Are you alright?” I inquired, disengaging from the hug to take a proper look at them.Amber looked shocked, like she had seen a ghost but nodded, “Yes, we are.”Quickly, I turned to my men. “A number of you should fetch the pot while the rest and I will proceed home with Scott, my mate and my son.”My men nodded and walked off to carry out the order while a number of them stayed back. “Come on, it's time to head home,” I rose to my feet and pulled Amber up. “Let me have him,” I said, gesturing to my son.Amber obliged and handed him to me and surprisingly, he didn't make a fuss but relaxed comfortably in my arms.Turning to my men, I ordered, “let's head home, our mission is completed.” They nodded and we filed out of the dungeon. We made our way outside Scott's pack house, the dead bodies of his men

LOGAN'S POVI had assembled my men on returning from the seer's home. I filled them in on what the seer revealed, and I also informed them about the ritual to be held. They were all supportive as they all wanted Scott defeated as much as I wanted. So in the preceding days, I made preparations for the ritual, making provision for all the necessary materials we needed. And so the D–day arrived. The seer led me and my men to a large, open field on the outskirts of the Red Fanged Pack's territory. The moon was full in the sky, casting a silver glow over us. My men stood in a circle around me, their eyes fixed on me.The seer stood at the center of the circle, her eyes closed, her hands raised to the moon. “The moon goddess demands a ritual to weaken Scott's hold on the sacred pot,” she declared, her voice reverberating across the field.I nodded, my heart pulsating with anticipation. I knew that this ritual was the key to rescuing my mate and son.The seer began to chant, her voice risi

LOGAN'S POVThat night, I couldn't sleep as I kept tossing on the bed, nightmares of Amber and Grandal sleeping in a dungeon plaguing my dream.I couldn't believe Scott could be that cruel to a little child. I was even more angry at Amber for running off to my enemy's territory.I was unable to sleep as I rose from bed in the wee hours of the morning to visit my study. I tried to attend to some paperwork to get my mind off the events of the previous day, but I couldn't.It was in my restless state that I fell asleep on my study chair. The knock on the door roused me from sleep.“Come in,” I answered, groggily sitting up.My advisor stepped in, his face bearing an urgent expression. “Good morning, Alpha. The seer has sent for you on the moon goddess’s order.”My eyes immediately lit up. “Is it about my mate and son?”“I doubt. You have to hear her call right away.”I nodded and rose from the chair as I made my way back to my chambers. I freshened up and got changed into something befit

SCOTT'S POVAfter sending out the letter to Logan, I instructed my men to get prepared because I was sure Logan would come for war.He was a man of pride who never said no challenges, and just like I predicted, he arrived with his men Two days after I sent out the letter.“Alpha Logan and his men are here, armed to the teeth.” My advisor came to inform me, in my study.I let out an amused laughter. “Just like I expected. The men should not panic because he and his men won't be able to penetrate.” I said with so much confidence. My advisor nodded and exited the study. After he left, I took my time before heading outside to see Logan and his men. I walked out of the study, a smirk plastered on my face. I made my way to the palace gate, where Logan and his men were waiting. As I approached, I could see the determination in their eyes, but I knew it was futile.“Logan, Logan, Logan,” I said, shaking my head. “You really thought you could take on me and my pack? You're no match for us.”

LOGAN'S POVSince our rescue, today was the day I was finally meeting with my men. The reason being that I wanted everyone to be fully recuperated for the tasks at hand.I intended to restore the pack to its previous state. Compensate every family that Noel had killed their loved one or loved ones or stolen from them.I also intended to compensate Jayde and Laura for the inhumane treatment meted out to them by Noel. I also handed back the Zion's pack back to Laura.Afterward, I want to begin my search for Amber and my son. But before that, I had to summon the moon goddess for her opinion.“You all are welcome,” I said to my men as they all assembled in the throne room, on my orders.“We have a lot to discuss, but first I want to specifically thank you all for sticking by me. It is only unfortunate that we lost one of us during that trying mind,” at the mention of that, their eyes turned misty.“Wherever he is, Killian will be happy to know that we got the pack back. SCOTT'S POVI stormed out of Amber's room, my vision blinded by fury. I couldn't believe that the woman and her child I have been harboring and come to take as family are the mate and son of the man I detest with every single fiber of my being.Amber–who would have thought a woman as calm, conserved and innocent like her is capable of such deceit? More reasons why quiet females should be avoided at all cost.I arrived at my study, the walk from Amber's room doing nothing to alleviate how I was feeling. I felt used, betrayed and foolish.Lowering myself on my seat, I reminisced on the raid carried out by Logan and his men. My fury skyrocketed as I thought about the number of my soldiers and pack members that were lost that night. No matter how hard I tried to wave the painful thoughts, owing to my promise to Amber to keep her and Grandal safe, the images of that night still came surging back like an angry tide.My heart constricted painfully in my chest. LOGAN'S POVI have never felt satisfied and relieved like I felt when I delivered the blow to Noel's face.“You bastard!” I growled and charged towards him, aiming to hit him again, but I was restrained by the other Alphas.“You need to get a grip on yourself, Alpha. You need to recover first, he will be here to get the penalty of his deeds. You need detoxification as I can smell poison all over you.” Sir James said, pulling me backward. As if on cue, I felt a wave of dizziness and I staggered backwards.“Are you okay?” I heard different voices in the background as my head swoon. I tried to stay stable, but couldn't. I doubled up, and my legs gave way beneath me as I lost consciousness. That was all I recalled as I woke up to find myself on a bed. Groggily, I opened my eyes and was met by pairs of worried eyes staring down at me.“Thank God he is awake,” a voice said, and I tried to prop myself up on the bed but stopped as a banging headache overtook me.“Don't stress yourself, Logan.

NOEL'S POVI turned to the maiden and harshly ordered her to leave my chambers. Hurriedly, I slipped my manhood back into my trousers.Turning to Olivia, I asked. “Are the soldiers retaliating?”“They are, but they seemed outnumbered. These people mean business, and the arms that they have with them are ones that I have never seen before.” Olivia explained, her eyes misty with fear.“Go on, I'm coming after you.”Hesitantly, she stared at me before hurrying off.Confusion overtook me as I slipped into my fighting clothes, wondering who these Invaders were. And to worsen things, they attacked at night, a vulnerable time when everyone would be exhausted from their diverse daily activities. My confusion was replaced by fear. My soldiers are not prepared enough because no one was expecting an attack.“Cowards!” I cussed at the Invaders. They didn't even have the decency to warn me beforehand about their attack.I was even more scared because there was no way to reach the Giants that had
