LOGAN'S POV

I had assembled my men on returning from the seer's home. I filled them in on what the seer revealed, and I also informed them about the ritual to be held.

They were all supportive as they all wanted Scott defeated as much as I wanted. So in the preceding days, I made preparations for the ritual, making provision for all the necessary materials we needed.

And so the D–day arrived.

The seer led me and my men to a large, open field on the outskirts of the Red Fanged Pack's territory. The moon was full in the sky, casting a silver glow over us. My men stood in a circle around me, their eyes fixed on me.

The seer stood at the center of the circle, her eyes closed, her hands raised to the moon. “The moon goddess demands a ritual to weaken Scott's hold on the sacred pot,” she declared, her voice reverberating across the field.

I nodded, my heart pulsating with anticipation. I knew that this ritual was the key to rescuing my mate and son.

The seer began to chant, her voice risi

Amber's POVA story about a she-wolf who would stop at nothing to get what she desired, an alpha who would love her and her imperfections, one that would want no one but her. Very cheesy, I thought to myself. The stories always seemed to start and end the same.I closed the book I was reading and dropped it on my bed. It bounced and fell off the side but I didn't care enough to even try to pick it up. I stared at the book for a while before sighing and placing my head on my pillow. I really need to try out new genres, I thought to myself.Maybe it's because I read too many books with the same themes or maybe it's because I've always wished to be the character in the book, but somehow, someway, the more I read the book, the sadder I feel.I sighed for the umpteenth time as I turned to my side. It was already some minutes past ten and I knew for sure that Rose would be walking into my room very soon to tell me to come down for breakfast."Good morning, Amber," I heard the familiar voice

Amber's POVMy sore feet got scraped on the stone wall as I was pulled down the staircase. I had not been screaming for too long but my voice had already been cracked, my mouth dry and my lips parched. My leg hit a nail, its tail sticking out of the handrail and all I let out was a loud scream as it tore my flesh. I knew for sure that my wound would still heal and so did the guards. Still, its healing didn't mean I was immune to the pain it carried."Ungh," I groaned in pain as I bit down on my lower lip, an act that I did whenever I tried suppressing pain. "Let me fucking go.""Save your strength for when you meet with your mate, Amber," Vermont said without giving me a glance. "You will need that voice for other screams."I struggled and squirmed as I tried my very best to release myself from the strong grips of the guards dragging me out of their small castle but it only caused me more pain and hurt. Their claws dug into my flesh the more I tried to squeeze out of their grasp and a

Amber's POV"I'm here to see Alpha Logan," Vermont said as he approached the guards standing by the side of the gate of what seemed to be my new home. "Tell him, it's Vermont.""Alpha Logan never mentioned to us anybody of the name Vermont," one of the guards who held what seemed to be a mixture of an axe and a spear said. "Please turn back to wherever you are coming from.""Your alpha might not have mentioned my name to you guys but I am sure if you tell him my name and my reason for coming, he will let me in," Vermont insisted. He shifted his weight from his left leg to his right as he gave a small grunt. "It is very, very important.""Oh, really?" the other guard said as he unsheathed his two swords and held them by his side. He raised one to his shoulder and gave a small grin before asking, "And what should I tell him is your reason for coming?""I have..." Vermont turned and looked at me, who was now fully awake and had my eyes on the monster of a step-father, "... a very good me

Amber's POVThat... that can't be him, I thought to myself. There was no way in hell that… that thing was going to be my mate. The deep red eyes that seemed to have been submerged in the blood of the dismayed, those long sharp claws that could tear the strongest warrior wolf in half with one swing, his long fangs that he brandished from time to time as he licked it with his forked tongue, and the hair. It was so red that it reflected the sun's rays and shone like it had been sprayed with blood.I shuddered in the cage as I felt a cold shiver run down her spine. The guards too, I should have seen it earlier. They possessed the same traits as their alpha, long teeth and forked tongue, they were the same except that the alpha looked like he could do ten times more damage than the two guards combined."Oh, fuck no," I mumbled to myself as I scooted away to the end of the cage. I looked down at my hands and grunted as my skin sizzled after coming in contact with the silver bits.I have to

AMBER’S POV “You are so evil! I hate you old—” “Hey!” Vermont yelled as he drew closer to the silver bars. He whispered. “This is the end of the road for you, little one. Your days of yelling at me, frustrating and provoking me are all over. I urge you from this day on, accept your fate because there’s nothing you can do about it. You’ve been sold off and there’s nothing you can do about it. You better have one thing in mind. This alpha is a dangerous one. He wants you to bear a child for him. Not just any child, he specifically wants a male child. You should begin praying to the moon goddess to grant you a male child, or else, you will be beheaded and your new mate won’t think twice before drinking your goddamn blood.” Vermont fixed a wide smirk as he ordered the guards to take me in. What Vermont said had made me feeble in all parts of my body. I knelt down and faced the floor of the moving cart as tears rolled down my cheeks and dropped to the ground. I guess Vermont is right,

Why aren’t you ready yet!?”His bass voice echoed through the room and it startled me. I shook a little and my heart raced to what he wanted me to do.“What was I to get ready for?” I asked. He glanced at me with his blood-like looking eyes. “Don’t you know why you’re here!?”His query braced my ears and my fingers went cold and numb. LOGAN'S POVThat night, I couldn't sleep as I kept tossing on the bed, nightmares of Amber and Grandal sleeping in a dungeon plaguing my dream.I couldn't believe Scott could be that cruel to a little child. I was even more angry at Amber for running off to my enemy's territory.I was unable to sleep as I rose from bed in the wee hours of the morning to visit my study. I tried to attend to some paperwork to get my mind off the events of the previous day, but I couldn't.It was in my restless state that I fell asleep on my study chair. The knock on the door roused me from sleep.“Come in,” I answered, groggily sitting up.My advisor stepped in, his face bearing an urgent expression. “Good morning, Alpha. The seer has sent for you on the moon goddess’s order.”My eyes immediately lit up. “Is it about my mate and son?”“I doubt. You have to hear her call right away.”I nodded and rose from the chair as I made my way back to my chambers. I freshened up and got changed into something befit

The men should not panic because he and his men won't be able to penetrate.” I said with so much confidence. My advisor nodded and exited the study. After he left, I took my time before heading outside to see Logan and his men. I walked out of the study, a smirk plastered on my face. I made my way to the palace gate, where Logan and his men were waiting. As I approached, I could see the determination in their eyes, but I knew it was futile.“Logan, Logan, Logan,” I said, shaking my head. “You really thought you could take on me and my pack? You're no match for us.”

LOGAN'S POVSince our rescue, today was the day I was finally meeting with my men. The reason being that I wanted everyone to be fully recuperated for the tasks at hand.I intended to restore the pack to its previous state. Compensate every family that Noel had killed their loved one or loved ones or stolen from them.I also intended to compensate Jayde and Laura for the inhumane treatment meted out to them by Noel. I also handed back the Zion's pack back to Laura.Afterward, I want to begin my search for Amber and my son. But before that, I had to summon the moon goddess for her opinion.“You all are welcome,” I said to my men as they all assembled in the throne room, on my orders.“We have a lot to discuss, but first I want to specifically thank you all for sticking by me. It is only unfortunate that we lost one of us during that trying mind,” at the mention of that, their eyes turned misty.“Wherever he is, Killian will be happy to know that we got the pack back. For that, I want u

SCOTT'S POVI stormed out of Amber's room, my vision blinded by fury. I couldn't believe that the woman and her child I have been harboring and come to take as family are the mate and son of the man I detest with every single fiber of my being.Amber–who would have thought a woman as calm, conserved and innocent like her is capable of such deceit? More reasons why quiet females should be avoided at all cost.I arrived at my study, the walk from Amber's room doing nothing to alleviate how I was feeling. I felt used, betrayed and foolish.Lowering myself on my seat, I reminisced on the raid carried out by Logan and his men. My fury skyrocketed as I thought about the number of my soldiers and pack members that were lost that night. No matter how hard I tried to wave the painful thoughts, owing to my promise to Amber to keep her and Grandal safe, the images of that night still came surging back like an angry tide.My heart constricted painfully in my chest. Such an act was too difficult

You need to recover first, he will be here to get the penalty of his deeds. You need detoxification as I can smell poison all over you.” Sir James said, pulling me backward. As if on cue, I felt a wave of dizziness and I staggered backwards.“Are you okay?” I heard different voices in the background as my head swoon. I tried to stay stable, but couldn't. I doubled up, and my legs gave way beneath me as I lost consciousness. That was all I recalled as I woke up to find myself on a bed. Groggily, I opened my eyes and was met by pairs of worried eyes staring down at me.“Thank God he is awake,” a voice said, and I tried to prop myself up on the bed but stopped as a banging headache overtook me.“Don't stress yourself, Logan.

These people mean business, and the arms that they have with them are ones that I have never seen before.” Olivia explained, her eyes misty with fear.“Go on, I'm coming after you.”Hesitantly, she stared at me before hurrying off.Confusion overtook me as I slipped into my fighting clothes, wondering who these Invaders were. And to worsen things, they attacked at night, a vulnerable time when everyone would be exhausted from their diverse daily activities. My confusion was replaced by fear. My soldiers are not prepared enough because no one was expecting an attack.“Cowards!” I cussed at the Invaders.
