SCOTT'S POV

I stormed out of Amber's room, my vision blinded by fury. I couldn't believe that the woman and her child I have been harboring and come to take as family are the mate and son of the man I detest with every single fiber of my being.

Amber–who would have thought a woman as calm, conserved and innocent like her is capable of such deceit? More reasons why quiet females should be avoided at all cost.

I arrived at my study, the walk from Amber's room doing nothing to alleviate how I was feeling. I felt used, betrayed and foolish.

Lowering myself on my seat, I reminisced on the raid carried out by Logan and his men. My fury skyrocketed as I thought about the number of my soldiers and pack members that were lost that night.

No matter how hard I tried to wave the painful thoughts, owing to my promise to Amber to keep her and Grandal safe, the images of that night still came surging back like an angry tide.
