Chapter 25: An explosion

“Luna!” The guard shouted as he rushed into the room. He went to Ivorie first and grabbed her arm, helping her up.

Ivorie, still dazed about what was happening, gazed at the burning bed in awe.

“I need to get you out of this place, Luna. I’ll have my colleagues check it out.” The guard said in a tone of urgency.

As he pulled Ivorie along, she followed him reluctantly. He took her out of the room and down the corridor.

“Wha…what was that?” Ivorie asked as she half ran down the hall with the guard, Grace was also tagging along.

“I have no idea, Luna. We need to inform the Alpha about this.” The guard said as they took a turn that led to Regan's room.

As they arrived, the guard knocked once and opened the door. “Alpha!” He called but there was no answer. Ivorie also looked around the room but didn't see Regan.

“He must have left!” She said. The pain that she still felt had temporarily been forgotten as agitation and shock were the only things that consumed her mind.
