Chapter 28: Interrogations II

“I didn't call for you!” Regan said in a slightly raised voice. Ivorie rolled her eyes.

“I'm your wife, I don't need to be summoned before I can come to you.” Ivorie shot back. The sound of her affirming to be his wife felt somehow in her mouth. “Besides, you won't get anything valuable from my handmaid.” She added.

Regan's jaws clenched in annoyance. He shot a glare at the guards and they all shifted uncomfortably and lowered their heads.

Ivorie gestured to a guard to bring her a chair. She sighed as she took her seat, careful not to affect the aching areas of her body.

“What is it you want to tell me?” Regan asked, trying really hard not to clutch his wife's neck between his fingers.

“After you sauntered off earlier,” Regan's eyes narrowed, “Jenna came here.” She said.

Regan's eyes quickly widened and thinned again dangerously. “What was she doing here?” He asked in a growling tone.

“Sh…she brought a gift, in a tray. I don't know…it should be somewhere around there.” Ivorie said, po
