Chapter 29: Sharing a room

“Regan, NO!” Ivorie's voice resounded in the room. Silence descended and the guards stopped dragging Jenna.

The Alpha turned his face to Ivorie. She was on her feet, panting. She couldn't just watch an innocent person being killed for a crime she didn't commit.

“You can't do this.” She breathed. The gaze on Jenna's face made her pity her.

With arched brows, Regan asked, “Why not? She tried to kill you.”

“That is still under investigation!” She countered instantly.

“What else is there to find out? All fingers point at her. She tried to kill you.” Regan turned his whole body to face her. He walked closer to her in bold steps but Ivorie remained rooted to the spot. She wasn't afraid of him.

“The real culprit is there to be found, Alpha. I will not allow you to take an innocent life.” She said defiantly, her face looking up at Regan's.
