Chapter 29: First round briefing

Mia’s POV

Madam Talia looked shocked at Adam, like she was offended.

“Me? Value her input?” she asked angrily. “How long has she been in this pack? She’s not even a mistress! Why should she have a say in the Luna selection?”

The ladies behind her all agreed. They came from noble families and didn’t even want to dine at the same table as me, let alone be judged by me.

But Adam’s voice was cold, “That’s the Alpha’s order. If you have a problem, take it up with him.”

The room fell silent immediately.

This must be the power of a tyrant; no one dared to say another word.

Madam Talia muttered, “I will ask the Alpha myself,” but I doubted she would.

Adam turned to me again, his stern expression softening. “I’ll wait for you by the door, Miss Mia. After this, I’ll take you to see Alpha.”

I heard the maids call him Captain, so he must be busy. How could I let him wait for me?

I quickly waved my hands, “No need! Just tell me where Alpha Draven is, I can find him myself. Don’t trouble yourself.”
