Ruined me

Mallory’s POV

5 years ago.

I woke up in a unfamiliar room. I look around and no one is around.

I stare at the ceiling and thought ‘What was the last thing I remember?’

I kept asking myself that. Then suddenly I hear a voice.

“When will she wake up?” Oddly familiar voice.

“Soon. Just trust me, she will!” That one I recognize.

Ben’s voice.

“You’ve been saying that for a fucking week!”

A week? Who me?

“Hey!” I say, I thought I screamed it but I think not because they are still talking.

So, I do the smartest thing think of right now, pushed the glass cup.

They immediately get to me.

“About time.” I whisper to myself.

“Oh thank God you’re awake. If not I would’ve been in the grave with you.” Ben says and I laugh.

Then a familiar figure hugged me.

“Jack.” I whisper.

“You still remember me?”

“You don’t hate me?” I ask him trying mot to cry.

“I wanted to but I can’t bring myself to hate you. You’re the only family I got.”

“I’m sorry.”

He let’s go of me “Good thing is that you’re alive and with me.”

“What Happened?” I asked.

Jack looks at Ben.

Ben sighed “You almost died. You tell me what happened? Did you try and kill yourself?”

That’s when I realized something. “Someone came to my room. He tried to kill me.” I say as realization hits me.

“Did you know who was it?” Ben asks.

“It wasn’t Helios?” I ask because I think it was him or maybe a man hired by Madeline.

Ben shakes his head “No. he was there but he didn’t check on you. Luckily…” he was cut off “Luckily, Ben was there to save you. If not I could’ve lost you too.” Jack says.

“If she died, he would’ve too.” Ben says and we both looked at him.

Ben then nods at Jack.

“No….” Jack says which I couldn’t decipher what was going on.

“Hey! What the hell is going on?!” I ask.

“Maybe we should tell her.” Ben says.

“Then why is he so distant? I want to understand first.” Jack says and Ben sighed.

“I tried everything but it seems he is hell bent on making everything worse. He is not bewitched or something, that I know for sure. I am his best—-Beta and I should know but I can’t understand him either.” Ben says.

And this is now confusing for me. And they won’t even tell me what the fuck is wrong.

“I asked for a witch to fake her death and him feeling the string keeping them both together be destroyed. As long as he can’t see her, he won’t feel a damn thing of her being alive.”

My patience growing thin. As I was to burst, Jack held me close.

“I don’t want to lose you again. I’ll protect you from all of this. I’ll send you back to the pack if I have to.”

Pack? Beta? What the hell is going on.

“Listen to me, you’re human. Mom was human and you grew up to be one too. Dad, was an Alpha. Which he is still now. We are in the human world to protect you from all of that mess. Me and Dad loves you so much that’s why when you said you’d marry Helios, we agreed. It wasn’t because we liked him but because you loved him.”

Wow.

“We know this is a lot to process but it is important that no one knows who you or we both really are not until dad says so. Understand?”

“Let me get this straight. Mom was human and dad is like a….”

“Werewolf” Ben says.

“Yeah that. And you all are too. Even Helios and Madeline I assume?”

“Yes.” Jack says.

I laughed “How stupid do you think I am to believe you?!”

Jack closed his eyes and took a deep breath “Mallory. This is all true. We know it is hard to believe since you grew up knowing nothing at all.”

“How do you expect me to believe all this shit, Jack?” Still laughing.

Then his eyes changed and I gasped.

“What the hell was that?!” I say and then suddenly Ben said something.

“You know how you have senses like no other normal

Human would? It’s because you only have like maybe 10% of the genes.”

Then Ben shifted into a wolf which of course as a normal human being, I fucking screamed.

“This can’t be true! Okay turn back!” I say and he did but this time I screamed louder.

“You’re naked!”

Ben laughed and immediately took a towel to cover himself up.

“I’m sorry you have to find out this way”

Me calming myself. “Okay, I get it now. You both weren’t joking.”

“But tell why do you need to tell me this and Why is Helios will feel something if I die?”

“We werewolves including you have this thing called mates. And if we ever meet them, it’s like a the soul mate thing or fate thing in humans but the difference is that if we meet them, we feel a string so strong meaning you and your mate should end up together forever. There’s an invisible string tying you to him” Ben explains.

“And your mate, unfortunately is Helios.” Jack says.

“Oh come on! Out of all the people and werewolves in the world, I am fated to that piece of garbage?!” I say.

I can’t fucking believe I am mated to that good good for nothing ex-husband of mine.

“He is my Alpha and you are my Luna no matter what. And he is being stupid right now, I have to protect you. My duty is to protect you.” Ben says.

Oh maybe that’s why he has been really helpful to me.

“I want to go to Dad.” I say.

“Are you sure?” Jack asks.

“Yes. I miss you. Because of Helios I almost lost the only true family I ever had.”

“Dad is going to be soooo pissed at me.” Jack says and I smile.

“He won’t be. He’ll be seeing me.”

And I turn to Ben “As long as Helios doesn’t see me, he won’t feel a fucking thing right?” Ben nods.

“Then it shall be that. Until I am ready, he won’t see me for the time being.” I say and with that said, Jack and Ben prepared everything for my safety.
