Loved Him

Mallory’s POV

As soon as my brother arrived at the office. He sat down and massaged his temples.

“I’m sorry for making a huge mess. Maybe I should have never came back.” Mallory said.

“No! Of course not! I just thought, why did we let you marry into that family in the first place.” Jack responded.

“I loved him, Jack. You know that.”

“You still do.” Jack says

I looked away “Not anymore. What I’ve been through……I just want payback.” I say.

Hack scoffed “Come on. Then why did you say you don’t remember him, when clearly you do.”

“I panicked okay!” I stood up and paced around “it was my first day back from a long flight. I didn’t expect to see him there! He doesn’t like buying stuff for the house before. Seeing him before I could lay on my bed for the first time was not in my plans.”

Jack sighed. “Fine. But this will come out sooner or later.”

“I know but it’s not like I owe them the truth. They don’t deserve it then and specially not now.”

I know I may doing this too far, but with everything that they have done, they deserve more.

I just don’t think I can look at Old Mrs. kinsley’s eyes and lie to her. Well, I just hope we’re not going to meet anytime soon.

“Good Morning sir, but someone wants to talk to you.” My brother’s secretary says.

“Can’t you see, we are in a meeting right now? Are you new, Cecil?” Jack asks and she shakes her head.

“Yeah, no. Why do you act like you are?” My brother asks angrily.

My brother might be cold and might appear to be cruel but he is really not.

“Cecil, is it?” I ask and she nods “Well, We’re in meeting right now, but who is this person that’s more important than this meeting?” I ask as nicely as possible because obviously my brother is a jerk today.

“We co—-couldn’t stop him and just went straight ahead, Ma’am.” She answers and I nod.

“Okay, let him in.” I say and she nods.

Once I saw who it was I smiled and stood up, to run to him.

“Nathan! Oh my goodness, it’s nice to see you again!”

And hugged him.

“Nice to see you too, baby girl” He whispers, making me smile.

Then when I was supposed to let him go, I saw someone standing behind him.

I furrowed my eyebrows but when he raised his eyebrows, I tried to stop reacting like a I knew him.

It would end my little game if he knew.

“So, how is….” I cut Nathan off.

“Mr. Kinsley, what brings you here?” I ask the person behind him.

He cleared his throat “I never thought you know him.”

“We used to date, back in college.” Nathan said.

“So, you remember that? Then you should remember who you really liked then, and used him just to make that person jealous but you didn’t get the reaction you wanted.” Helios says and I am trying to push away my thoughts of answering back.

I smiled but before I could answer, Ben arrived.

“Selective Amnesia Helios. She lost a lot of blood then and when she woke up, all those person who hurt her suddenly vanished in her memories.”

I have to thank him after this. Nathan looks at me weirdly and then smiled.

Nathan please just go along, I kept repeating these words in my mind.

“Yeah, good thing, she hurt me and not the other way around. And now that we met again, I think we have a lot of things to talk about.” Nathan says and I smile.

“We should talk in my office.”

“Yes, you both go. I think Mr. Kinsley went here purely for business, isn’t that right, Mr. Kinsley?”

“Yes, of course.” He answered.

I held Nathan’s hand and pulled him out, and I know his eyes never left me.

And as soon as I get in my office with Nathan, I closed the blinds because it seems he went here not for business but for me.

“Care to explain?” I hear Nathan asks and for a second I forgot he’s in here with me.

I sighed and looked at him.

“He doesn’t know anything. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner.”

“I get it, he fucked up your head but this isn’t right, pretending to have amnesia.”

“Nathan just please trust me, apparently we’re not divorced yet.”

“What!???” He asked shouting and I covered his mouth.

“Can you be more louder?” I scolded and I roll my eyes.

He removed my hand from his mouth.

“He didn’t sign it. That’s why he is here today. Jack and him are going to talk about this, and Jack told me to continue pretending for a while until we fix this.”

“Okay. I understand. Now that I know I can help you. You know I am always here for you, right, baby girl?”

I smile again “I am not going to say this to start something I can’t finish but I like it when you call me that, it sounds so genuine, so pure, so….sweet.”

He smiled, showing his one dimple on one side. He’s charming.

He hugs me and whispers “I know this won’t end like how I wanted to be but let me protect you too. Ben and your brother….I know they can and will do everything to protect you but let me help.”

I nod “Of course, I would never reject being treated like a princess, I would be stupid if don’t let you guys.” I joked and he kisses the side of my head.

Then suddenly I am yanked out of his arms.

“I suggest you leave now and stop making an eye or even touching my wife if you want to live.” Helios says and I try to remove his hand from me.

“What is wrong with you!?” I scream with pure hatred.

“What’s wrong?! You’re still my wife!” He answers me and Nathan scoffs.

“Yeah? Well she does not fucking remember you! I am her boyfriend!” He suddenly said, I am shocked hearing this but this could work, no?

“He is right! I don’t even know you not after I ran into you at the grocery store!” I say and took the opportunity to ran behind Nathan and he is in a protective stance.

Helios greeted his teeth. My brother and Ben comes.

“Mr. Kinsley, Let me talk to my sister and we’ll settle this again.”

Helios calms himself down and agreed.

“Fine but you have until this day only. After this, wether you like it or not, you’re coming with me.” He says and then leaves the office.

Once he was gone, I sighed out of relief.

“You’ll let him take me!?” I ask Jack.

“You have no choice, I already told you why right?” Ben says and I nod.

“But still, I can reject him like you said, right?”

“Wait, he is your mate?” Nathan asks.

I sighed and this is getting messier than the last time.

And yes, you heard it right, He is a werewolf, mated to a human like me.

“That’s the problem. Because you pretended to have amnesia, you can’t. If you start to reject him, he’ll know and I even doubt if he accepts it.” Ben says.

Jack looks at me.

“This is more than just the divorce. You are mated to him, the good thing about this is that he thinks you don’t know anything.” Jack says.

“And not marked.” Nathan said.

“And apparently, you are my girlfriend and for now he can’t touch you because you don’t know anything.”

I massage my temples.

This is going to be a big fucking mess.
