Helios’ POV

“I honestly forgot for a minute that he’s here.” She says and that honestly hurt me.

If I can’t have her with me being nice then maybe I should just be the way I am.

“First, you are obliged to go home with me it’s the rules.” but before she could say anything I continued.

“You should know that I heard you.” I say and she looks at me innocently while she ate from that stupid food that stupid guy stupidly made.

She then furrowed her eyebrows.

“Care to explain it to her?” I tell Jack.

“You wanted her to know, you do it. You have a mouth, don’t you?” He says and if he is not her brother I would’ve strangled this man already.

“You always liked reading books before. Myth’s. You liked reading about wolves, fairies, vampires, witches. I paid attention to what you like, I just don’t know why I did things I regret now.” I say staring into her eyes.

“And?” She asks and brought food into her mouth.

“They are real.” I say.

Moment of silence for all of us and waited for her to react. What caught me off guard was that she suddenly laughed.

“We’re serious. We’re all werewolf here well except for you. You’re human.” I say.

Then she stopped.

“Ridiculous. My dad and brother would’ve told me the truth. They will never lie to me. You on the other hand” She says as she wipes her mouth. And I didn’t like it that she sees me as a liar.

“He’s not lying.” Her dad says. Raymond, or Alpha Mon for short.

“I——too mu——too much information. My—-my head hurts.” She says standing up then her legs weaken, I was about to stand up and help her but Nathan beat me to it.

“You good?” He asks her which makes me really jealous. I’m an Alpha, Alpha Mon should understand this feeling but he is angry with me somehow.

She nods. “Can you take me home?” She asks him.

“I’m your mate.” I say.

“Mate?” She then asks weakly.

“We talk about this some other time, okay?” Nathan tells her softly.

“No! She should know!”

“Know what?” She asks.

“In our world. There are things called mates. And it’s like a string, we are born for each other. There’s this invisible string always ties you to me.” I say in one breath.

“What? So we can’t cut that?” She asks walking to her father and pushing away Nathan angrily.

“You can——“ Jack says but I cut him off “No! I won’t allow you. You’re mine!”

“You can’t force her!” Jack screams at me.

“Even if she did reject me, I won’t accept it!” I say smirking “I’d like to see you all try and take her away from me.”

“You’d want that? Me staying with you but unhappy?”

I looked away “You’d be happy there with me.” I say.

“No.” She whispers “this can’t be.”

“At least try and stay for a month then decide wether we continue this or not.”

“You don’t have to agree.” Nathan tells her.

She stays silent for a moment and looked at her dad and brother.

“Okay.” She says.

“What?!” Jack screams.

“I’ll be there Jack. To protect her.” Ben suddenly says.

“What? Why?” She asks him.

“I’m sorry for not telling you but You understand how the wolf word works. He is the Alpha, I am his Beta.” Ben explains.

She doesn’t say a thing and went for the door. “Nathan will drive me to your place tomorrow. For now I’ll go home with my family and talk about this.”

Then leaves us.

“This is fucking messed up.” I say stressed out.

I leave their building and went back home.

“Mom!” I call out.

“Fully aware.” She says casually as she descends down the stairs.

“I am fully aware. I did all necessary things for her. The room and everything.” She says and then looks at me.

“Mom, I——I need your help.” I say.

“I’m guessing she still is mad at you? And want me to help you to do something?”

I shake my head “I—-I just need, advice.” Then I clear my throat.

She laughed “My, My!” sipping tea.

“My son. The Big Bad Alpha. Asking help, advice, from his mother.”

“Mom this isn’t funny. I don’t know what to do anymore and I can’t do anything without messing up mom. I——I am forcing her to stay with me. Without love mom, is this right?”

“You know son, you can’t force her to love you. But I understand why you thought you needed to do it. I am not saying it’s right but….you can change this, be the good guy this time.” She says and stood up.

“And oh! You were not bewitched before. You were just so stupid to believe all the lies that Madeline was telling you. And she was so fucking good in manipulating you, as well as faking some evidence.” She says smiling.

I laughed. “Mom, you know you just cursed.”

“When it comes to that Madeline girl, I would never stop myself from cursing.”

Then she leaves me alone. And then again, I feel so bad but that’s really an understatement. I feel guilty like I just wanted to be buried alive.

My wife that I was supposed to be happy with…and…and…my kid. I killed my fucking kid.
