Tulips and Lilies

Helios’ POV

“Drive.” I tell my driver as I leave their company.

“This isn’t fair. She’s my mate and I can’t even hold her.” I tell myself.

I fish my phone out and called Ben.

As soon as he answered he didn’t get the chance to speak.

“Beta, it’s urgent. Pack, now!” As say. And soon we arrived at the pack.

After a few minutes, Ben did too. We went in my office and my mother was already waiting.

“Before you say anything. I vowed to protect the Luna from any harm. The day you got married I promised your mother to protect her even if it’s from you.”

“But you didn’t have to hide the fact that she’s fucking alive!” I screamed.

My mother’s eyes went wide for a moment and composed herself.

She then cleared his throat. “Ben is right. He promised to protect her no matter what. And he had every reason not to tell you. After everything you have done to her, you think its that easy?”

And here I thought she’s going to be on my side.

“I needed to save her from you and you know why. I don’t care if you found out the truth and regret everything. I don’t care if you’re sorry, Alpha. The damage has been done and you can’t change the fact that she was hurt badly by her own mate.”

“She doesn’t know I’m her mate.” I answer.

He scoffed “you think that helps? Imagine if she knew. What do you think she’ll do? She’s pushing for the divorce, Alpha. If she knew about our world then she would’ve rejected you by now.”

“That’s not going to happen. She’s mine and you know that. You are my Beta and you are going to help me get her back.” I growl with the Alpha command within me, coming out.

His eyes shined because of the command, and that means it’s working.

But he smirked “Your command doesn’t work on me, Alpha. I took a blood oath with the former Luna and you know how strong that is.”

My eyes widen and looked at my mother as she nods.

Fck! I’m screwed.

“I won’t abandon you or the pack but I’m sure as hell want you to earn your place in her heart again. But you do it Alpha without asking for anyone’s help. You don’t know what to do? Yeah, because you have no love left in your heart.” He said then left the office.

The room went silent.

“He’s right. You only love yourself. Right now, I know how badly you want her back but that’s all that there is.” Mom said before leaving me too.

And for a moment, I realized, Maybe they are right. Even if I say that I love her, I don’t know anything about her to begin with.

I sighed and massage my temples, I look up at the ceiling.

Then maybe bringing her back to the house is not the right choice for now. I have 3 months to win her heart.

That’s long enough right? Or maybe I should delay her filing for a divorce once again.

———

All I know now is that she likes Tulips. Okay, that’s a large step. I think.

I’ll buy it myself and deliver it by me. This should be easy.

I went in the flower shop and asked for a bouquet of flower.

“Oohhh Tulips. And white ones at that.” The lady at the counter says and I smile.

“I hope she forgives me huh?” I say and she laughed.

“That depends young man on how deep you hurt her. Not all pain can be healed with just flowers you know.” She says.

I sighed “I know. But it’s a large step (?)”

“Not yet. You have to wait if she accepts them first.”

And yes, that scared me too.

So, I drove to her company dreading the fact that she might not accept this.

I parked and now I am headed to the receptionist. I was about to ask if I could see her but then I see her coming with Nathan.

And she’s smiling.

When she saw me, I smiled but her smile turned into a frown.

“Why are you here?” She asks.

And it almost seemed like she remembers me and just hates me.

“I brought flowers.” I say and continued “White Tulips. Your favorite Tulips and they are white because it’s an apology.”

“I don’t know what to say.” She says taking it from me.

I stayed quiet fearing I might say something wrong.

She then looked at me and slapped the flowers on my chest.

“They or better yet you claimed that you were my husband but it seems you never even bothered knowing what I like.” She says angrily raising her eyebrows.

“Her favorite flower are Lilies.” Nathan says obviously gloating.

“The bad thing about this is that Tulips are Madeline’s favorite. Isn’t that the flowers she said she liked during a magazine interview?” She then says that left me frozen as I watch her go out with Nathan.

Well, I screwed up…again.

It shouldn’t be this hard, she’s my wife, why don’t I know anything about her?

Not only that. She’s my fucking mate for goodness sake.

Aaarrgh! Why did I hate her so badly before, was I spelled or something? I even have our child killed. Fck me!

I have to get to the bottom of this.
