Signe POVAfter Asher left I got up and went over to get food. He wasn't wrong, I needed to eat. It was the fact that he had whispered in my ear the way he did that has me completely thrown off. After I finish eating I get up to leave the dining room and each of my warriors stands with me. I head over to where Alex is sitting alone at a table."Good morning again, Alex." I say with a smile."How can I be of service, Signe?" Alex replies and takes a swig of his orange juice."I was hoping you wouldn't mind showing us where the training grounds are. I don't want to be late and I'd like to stretch and limber up before our...training begins."Alex smirks at me and just shakes his head. "I don't mind at all." Alex gets up from his seat and comes to stand next to me. "You ready to go Siggy baby?"It was cute when he called me that earlier this morning, but to call me that in front of my warriors felt a bit degrading."I'm sorry Beta Alex. I think I missed that last part." I challenge him a
Signe POV'Of course he would choose us first. He's most intimidated by what he doesn't know.' Aerona states as she paces back and forth in my mind.'Well, then no time like the present to make sure that he has no choice but to know who we are through and through.' I spit out. I'm upset that he threw me into the ring first. I wanted to watch my warriors fight first so that I myself could fully asses their abilities against his warriors before I had the chance to fight."Gladly." I smirk back at Asher hiding my own anger and his smile disappears from his face. If he thought he was going to intimidate me or put me in my place, he had another thing coming. "Who would you like to fight first?" Asher questions me and gestures to the group furthest to my left.So I had been right. That was the platinum level fighter group. I wanted so badly to say that I wanted to face off against one of their she-wolves so I could give them an opportunity to show off their own skills, but I also didn't
Signe POV The platinum ranked fighter steps into the circle and he smiles at me. It’s a cocky smile. One that tells me that he thinks he’s got this in the bag. “Are you ready little wolf?” Yep…he’s cocky alright. “Ready when you are sugar plum.” I give him an innocent smile that he doesn’t return. I’ve upset him with my little pet name. Little does he know, I’m about to completely wipe the floor with him and being upset will be the least of his concerns. I start to size him up. He’s probably about six foot one or two. I’d say about 225 pounds and muscles as big around as my head. He’s pacing back and forth waiting for the signal for our fight to begin. I watch how he walks hoping to gain some insight to any persistent injuries or favoring of one side of his body or the other. I see none. Ok. So I guess I was going to have to use my speed and agility to the best of my ability for this fight. I look over to Asher who looks like he has moved past his anger. Damn. I’ll have
Signe POV I walk back into the circle awaiting my next opponent. I know this fight will be more difficult because he will have already seen my first fight and will have an idea of what I’m capable of. I rub my temples willing my headache to go away so that my mind will be completely clear and I will be able to focus. I regret throwing my water bottle back to Gabe amidst all of my flirting with Asher. I should have brought it with me. I hear footsteps getting closer to the ring. I take a deep breath to help prepare myself for this next battle. I turn around and I am shocked by what I see. It’s the only female warrior from the diamond level warriors. I can’t help it as I beam at her. For them to acknowledge her as their number one ranked fighter in her level was an amazing feat in its own, no matter what pack you’re in. She smiles back at me. As happy as I am to be fighting against another female warrior, I know I can’t treat her any differently. I won’t be naive and under
Signe POV I follow Asher all of the way to the circle. He stops at the edge and turns, waiting for me to catch up to him. “Is everything okay, Alpha?” “It’s not too late to back out of this fight. There’s no disgrace in that, Signe. I really don’t want to hurt you.” I was touched by his words and his concern for me, but I needed to prove to him I wasn’t some lowly and incapable she-wolf. “Backing out isn’t an option for me.” I say softly and reach out to touch his arm. The sparks shoot through me. I know how difficult this is going to be if I feel this amazing sensation throughout my body each time we touch. He doesn’t remove my hand from his arm but he does look down at it. He stands there staring for some time before he looks at me and smiles. “I will agree to hold back and not use all of my alpha strength, then.” His words light a renewed fire in me. He thinks he's doing me a favor by offering to take it easy on me, when what he is really doing is cutting a low blow at
Signe POVI watch Asher as he makes his way towards me from the other side of the circle. He's fast for his size, I will give him that. I wait and watch trying to figure out what his move will be. I've decided it's best for me to stay on the defensive to start out until I can get a read on him. Asher is still running straight at me and I watch his arm swing around towards my chest keeping his pace. I drop to the ground just as his fist was about to connect with my chest. He was going straight for the take down. 'He's trying to get this over and done with.' Aerona growls. 'He won't defeat us that easily.'Asher turns back around and for a brief second I see the shock in his eyes. He had fully expected to make contact with me. He looks up at me and I give him a quick smile and stick my tongue out at him. I should've just said, 'na na na boo boo, you can't catch me,' and really just committed one hundred percent to the childish act I had just performed. I mentally slapped myself in the
Asher POV I hadn't expected her to fight like that and neither had Thor. I still can't get over the fact that I almost lost that fight. I had been cockcy. No wonder when I offered to tone it down and take it easy on her she had looked so offended at the suggestion. Signe wasn't just some ordinary she-wolf and I wasn't saying that just because she was my mate, either. It was obvious to me now that she had been training most of her life and didn't come by her position as future gamma of Crescent Moon solely by birth right. Towards the end of our fight, I noticed a new energy in Signe. She seemed to stand taller, her toned form seemed more defined than before and her eyes seemed brighter. The difference in their colors more noticeable than before. During the fight when I had her by the back of the neck, it felt like her wolf had grown as well. Which is one of the reasons I released her when she was thrashing around. I still had ahold of her arm and the sparks that were being sen
Signe POV Asher finishes whispering in my ear and leans back. Goddess the shivers that shoot down through my body when his lips touched my ear. He is teasing me on purpose, and I must admit, I am enjoying it. He leans back and looks at me. There's a fire and intensity in his eyes that has me squirming in my seat. "Little mate." he says to me and then his lips are on mine. I've never felt anything so heavenly in my life. If I thought the sparks from his hand on my arm or his lips brushing against my ear were intense, they didn’t hold a candle to how this felt. Every nerve ending in my entire body is on high alert. I can't stop myself from melting in his arms as he wraps them around my back and grabs my ass with one hand and the back of my head with the other, deepening the kiss. I start kissing him back with equal fervor and neither of us can get enough of the other. He grabs my hair and pulls my head back breaking our kiss and exposing my neck to him. Asher takes a deep breath i
