Chapter 30

Signe POV

I follow Asher all of the way to the circle. He stops at the edge and turns, waiting for me to catch up to him.

“Is everything okay, Alpha?”

“It’s not too late to back out of this fight. There’s no disgrace in that, Signe. I really don’t want to hurt you.” I was touched by his words and his concern for me, but I needed to prove to him I wasn’t some lowly and incapable she-wolf.

“Backing out isn’t an option for me.” I say softly and reach out to touch his arm. The sparks shoot through me. I know how difficult this is going to be if I feel this amazing sensation throughout my body each time we touch.

He doesn’t remove my hand from his arm but he does look down at it. He stands there staring for some time before he looks at me and smiles.

“I will agree to hold back and not use all of my alpha strength, then.”

His words light a renewed fire in me. He thinks he's doing me a favor by offering to take it easy on me, when what he is really doing is cutting a low blow at
