Signe POV

Asher and I sit in the car in silence on our way out to the border and I have about a million and one thoughts running through my head so fast, I can't seem to hold a single thought down.

Did he want to challenge me for taking his ear?

Did he want to finish the job he started?

Did he want to demand that Asher have me killed for attacking him?

Too many thoughts, both rational and irrational going through my head and as I feel the car begin to slow down as we near the border I can't keep my heart from racing.

"Signe, you need to calm down. Your heart is pounding a mile a minute. Get ahold of yourself and we will figure out what it is that he wants and then send him on his way." He's trying to reassure me, but the irritation I can hear lacing his tone does anything but.
