Asher POV

I hadn't expected her to fight like that and neither had Thor. I still can't get over the fact that I almost lost that fight. I had been cockcy. No wonder when I offered to tone it down and take it easy on her she had looked so offended at the suggestion.

Signe wasn't just some ordinary she-wolf and I wasn't saying that just because she was my mate, either. It was obvious to me now that she had been training most of her life and didn't come by her position as future gamma of Crescent Moon solely by birth right.

Towards the end of our fight, I noticed a new energy in Signe. She seemed to stand taller, her toned form seemed more defined than before and her eyes seemed brighter. The difference in their colors more noticeable than before. During the fight when I had her by the back of the neck, it felt like her wolf had grown as well. Which is one of the reasons I released her when she was thrashing around.
