Book Two: Branch Three

Joshua was shocked at the confession. He was always the center of attraction but coming from someone who he thought spared him no glance, it was a bit overwhelming. He shuffled on his feet in embarrassment not knowing how to handle the situation.

"What?" he found the words leaving his mouth in confusion.

Jack gasped in fear. He did not know if he heard right or if his imagination was playing tricks on him. It was quite rare for him to see Aletta act like this and now she was confessing love for Joshua?

"Ms. Aletta, I will help you out," Jack said pulling her backward and holding on to her firmly. "I will take her down and get a cab. You can take your time before coming out sir" Jack said. He knew that she would be embarrassed if she remembered by morning. He needed to save her before she made any further mistakes.
