Book Two: Branch Six

"What?" the word left his mouth quicker than he thought.

"I am so sorry sir, I hope I did not make a mistake" Aletta was confident in herself. There was no way he wouldn't buy this. She was so embarrassed that she feared for her life and job.

"You made a mistake," Joshua said again letting his emotions rule him.

"I did?" she asked shocked. "I am usually very well composed when I drink or so I hear" she added the last part quickly in case he doubts the credibility of her statement.

She had lied to him, she did not like lying but at that point, she had no other choice. She barely drank and even when she did it was never to the point of her getting so drunk she could not control herself. This was her first drunken episode so she was also shocked at her tendencies.

"You are well composed?" as she spoke he became convinced. It may be possible that she did not remember what went on yesterday.

"So I hear" she responded quickly. "I do sincerely apologize if I have caused any inconvenienc
