Book Two: Branch Forty Seven

Joshua sighed as he checked his phone for the nth time since he got home. He had neither heard from Aletta nor been able to clear up the misunderstanding which was not one. He did not know how his parents would react and he was not ready for teasing from any of his acquaintances.

He wanted to hear from her and see how she was doing but he did not want to be seen as overbearing or pushy when it was only their first day.

"A text message would not hurt would it?" he whispered to himself and took out his phone.

'I hope you got home safe and have had dinner?' he typed and hit send before he could rethink it.

'Yes I did, I am sorry for the outburst earlier, it was because I was not expecting something like that' she responded with a little tear-drop emoji face.

'It's okay I would have reacted worse if it were to be me' he typed back.

He was glad she was no longer as pissed as earlier and that she was fine. He was going to get to the bottom of whatever it was that they were facing at the mom
