Book Two: Branch Fifty

Aletta had left Joshua's office when he had refused to accept her solution and people had begun to resume work. She sat at her desk thinking about why he had refused to take her advice as regards the issue on the ground.

"Did he make you work overtime and resume earlier than the rest of us?" Julia asked catching her attention standing in front of her table.

"I mean should he not be focused on the rumour surrounding him? Did he have to make you work overtime?" Julia asked crossing her hand over her chest. "Wait," she said suddenly her eyes widening as if she just got a revelation.

"Is he making you clean up his mess?"

"It's nothing like that," Aletta said.

"Then what are you doing here so early in the morning?" Julia asked blinking multiple times.

"Don't you have work to get to?" Aletta said after a brief silence. She did not intend to tell her off so harshly but it had to be done so she didn't need to ask such questions again.
