Book Two: Branch Fifty Two

Anette stood up when she discovered that Joshua was going to give her the silent treatment. She knew he was offended and it was the first time she was seeing him so angry about something.

"I guess I will come another time" she said straightening out her dress and walking towards the door.

Joshua did not bother looking up from the iPad he was busy on. He only raised his head when the door clicked shut.

"Your boss is a little cranky today, be careful" Anette said as she walked out to see Aletta sitting on her seat tapping away at her desktop.

It has taken extreme self-control from her to help her not eavesdrop on their conversation. She wondered what they had spoken about that made Anette pass such a comment.

Aletta replied with a little smile and nod and Anette began to walk towards the elevator when she stopped in her tracks and turned back to the table of Aletta.

"Do you happen to know who the girlfriend of Joshua is?"

"What?" Aletta asked back in a small shout as she shot up out
