Book Two: Branch Fifty Seven

Andrew and Joshua entered the bar and into the private room. Joshua could tell from the expression on his friend's face as he ordered the drinks that he was worried about something and he hoped he was not there to apologize for what his sister had done.

Andrew had been able to get the truth about the current situation out of Anette when she had come. He had scolded her but she had told him that he was a chronic pretender and that she was not going to allow him to manipulate her to remain an ordinary girl. She had told him expressly that she was going to climb up the ladder and not allow anyone to stop her.

"What is it?" Joshua asked when Andrew remained silent and kept bobbing his head to the slow music being played inside the bar.

"I don't know how to go about this" he said finally dropping his head.
