Chapter Thirty-three

I was in the back seat of the black SUV with Tessa sitting beside me. One of his men was sitting in the passenger seat at the front of the car while the driver kept speeding off.

Hayden had promised to take me shopping today but suddenly called a few minutes ago to tell me he wouldn't make it, saying I should either cancel today or go to the mall alone.

I hated shopping, but I had been looking forward to leaving this house to get some fresh air, and there he was talking about canceling.

I quickly told him that I didn't mind going alone, nothing surprises me anymore, I wasn't expecting much from him anymore.

I was preparing to leave when I remembered Tessa. We told her about the mate thing but skipped the part where I was being hunted.

She was glad we found each other but I could sense there was more to it but quickly waved it off.
