Chapter 1 - Wolves are not real

Five-year-old Nyla was shivering with fear

"Momma, what happened to daddy?" she asked in her shaky voice.

Her mother held her hand with a strong grip and said "wolves, they killed your father, and soon they will find us" chills slid through Nyla's body and thousands of questions arose in her mind "momma, I am scared" words came out of her mouth as she looked at her mother with innocence.

"I want you to go to aunt Isla's house and never look for me again" her mother commanded but Nyla refused to listen "I am not going anywhere without you, momma" her voice started breaking as tears rolled down from her pretty eyes!

Her mother frowned and made her grip stronger on Nyla's wrist "listen to me at once, run for your life" Nyla's feet were still frozen at the spot and were not ready to take a step ahead.

"RUNNNNNNNNNN" her mother screamed her lungs out.

18 years later...

"Aunty Isla, I am late for work" Nyla shouted with all her force.

Aunt Isla rushed to Nyla's room and said

"I am so sorry but this is all your sister's fault" Nyla frowned, furrowing her brows she asked, "where is Julia?"

Julia entered Nyla's room interrupting their conversation with a warm smile on her lips

"Here I am as beautiful as always " As soon as her mischievous words reached Aunt Isla and Nyla's ears, they both rolled their eyes at her!!

"You know our boss, she is scary" Nyla spoke as her mind clouded with tension whereas Julia was still smiling at her best "she is scared because she thinks her cafè is the best in town" Aunt Isla laughed at Julia's sarcasm.

"Enough, now let's go" has said that Nyla and Julia left for work.

"you're late!" stopping the two sisters at the cafe's door, Mrs. Roselyn said.

"There was a huge traffic jam, I swear" Julia used her best excuse.

"There are no traffic jams in our small town, so stop lying to me" Mrs. Roselyn shouted at both of them and left in her arrogant walking style, Nyla took a deep breath and screamed "stop watching dramas late at night and start sleeping early"

Julia avoided eye contact with Nyla and a guilty smile appeared on her lips.

On the other hand deep in the middle of the forest

Ronan was standing strong against his father,

his palm was tightly closed with rage and the sweat on his forehead was the indication of his burning blood "I deserve to be an alpha!"

After a deep sigh, Arnold spoke "you're not strong like me, you're weak and not worthy of becoming Alpha" hearing his father's harsh words, Ronan's heart broke into pieces.

"Am I your son, father?" he questioned his father without any fear, his father eyes widened and words came out his mouth "how can you question your father?" The tension between them was reaching the heights as if they were sworn enemies despite being related to blood.

"Give me one chance to prove myself" Keeping his anger side, Ronan begged his father.

"No one in our tribe will accept a weak Alpha but you're my son and I want to give you a chance to prove your worth, so that I can lift my head with pride"

a smile flashed on Ronan's lips and his chest pumped up with happiness.

"Find the Lagoona tribe's descendant" Arnold said.

"I don't understand, father," Ronan asked answers from his father, Arnold looked at him with concern and told him the truth about the Lagoona tribe "Lagoona tribe's Alpha was considered to be the strongest but he died, though his child is alive somewhere and the whole tribe is looking for the child to make that child their new Alpha and the first thing they will do is attack us" his father's words were terrifying and indeed this matter was eating Arnold alive from inside.

"What do you want me to do with the child?" Ronan asked.

"Kill the child" has said that, Arnold left.

Standing alone in the middle of the dark forest, Ronan made up his mind to kill the child and prove to the entire tribe his worth.

on the other hand...

Mrs. Roselyn stepped inside the cafe, and was shocked to see Nyla still working late at night.

"Dear, you should have left early like your sister, it's not safe for you to work at this time" as scary as Mrs. Roselyn can be but her heart was made of warmth.

"I was just checking the accounts of today's sales," Nyla said hinting towards her dedication to the work.

"You're hard-working but right now I want you to go home, it's already very late" Mrs. Roselyn said with concern.

Walking through the empty road covered with snow, Nyla was scared to go home as except her not a single person was roaming around the street. The air was cold and the winds were throwing chills down her body, the fog covered half of her vision making it difficult for her to reach home!

The town has always been like this, it's small and located in the middle of the forest whereas the surroundings are covered with huge hills and that's why the town is called "forest hill"

In this town, Everyone knows everyone and by evening the streets are filled with emptiness as people are afraid of wild animals attacking them!

As Nyla was lost in the white fog, the sound of footsteps reached her ear.

Suddenly her feet stopped and slowly she turned her face towards the back but was shocked to find a wolf standing in front of her instead of a human.

Her body froze there, it was her first-time encounter with a wolf, she wanted to run but her feet were trembling with the scary sight.

The wolf was giant and his mouth was covered with blood as if he just had a delicious dinner.

Slowly the wolf started approaching Nyla, she was frozen but to save herself, her heart somehow gathered courage and she ran to the woods.

The wolf chased after her with his fast running paws following her smell.

Upon reaching the middle of the woods, Nyla was exhausted, and just when her body was about to give up, her eyes saw the glimpse of a house.
