Chapter 4 - The red mark

Ronan was standing in front of Nyla as she opened her eyes, seeing him her fear from before was gone and a sense of relief ran through her heart.

"Ronan," Nyla called out his name expressing her relief, Ronan held her hand strongly and looked straight into her eyes "the wolf is gone" as his words reached her ears she took a peek behind Ronan's back, and sighed as the wolf was really gone!

"The wolf seems afraid of you!" Nyla joked but for Ronan, it was the truth, he tilted his head to the left and asked: "are you coming with me or going back on your own?" Nyla coughed and chose to follow Ronan.

"I am coming with you!"

On the other hand, Aunt Isla was furious and worried at the same time.

"Where is she?" Aunt Isla asked Julia for the 1000th time but Julia was as clueless as Aunt Isla.

"She must be staying in her friend's home as you know she can't come back because of the landslide." Aunt Isla frowned even more and tears rolled down from her eyes "her phone is off, too, I just hope she is safe and not in any kind of danger" words left Aunt Isla's mouth creating a sense of tension in the entire house.

Returning to the house Nyla found all the boys waiting for her, as soon as she stepped inside, they all came running to her "Nyla, where were you?" Jax asked with curiosity and each one of them was looking at her with a worried face.

"I went to get some air," she said smiling at them, Ronan interrupted her conversation with them and commanded the boys "go back to your rooms, I need to talk to Nyla alone" as soon as the words reached their ears, they all rushed to their rooms.

As they left, Ronan turned her face toward Nyla and with a serious look on his face, he said "landslide will be clear by tomorrow, so leave before the boys find out, or else they won't let you go because they like you!" Nyla nodded her head and agreed to his terms.

Without engaging in the conversation further, Ronan walked over to his room only to find his friend, Austin standing near the window.

"When did you get in?" Ronan asked locking the door from inside, Austin turned his face to him, and with a warm smile on his lips, he said "your window was open, so I climbed in" Ronan rolled his eyes at him and asked the reason for his uninvited presence.

"I heard you argued with your father, are you going to find the Lagoona's tribe descendant?" Austin asked raising his eyebrows at Ronan as his mind was filled with thousands of questions regarding Ronan's decision.

"Yes, I am planning on killing him or else my father would never accept me as Alpha!" Ronan's eyes turned red with anger as he mentioned his father's demand.

"How will you find him?" Austin asked crossing his arms whereas the conversation piqued his interest about the descendant.

"Lagoona tribe has a red star mark on their back and that's how I will recognize him" Austin nodded his head as if he was appreciating Ronan's intelligence.

"I saw a girl with you, who is she?" Austin asked another question with curiosity.

Ronan smiled and said "she is human, lost her way, so I gave her shelter" Austin's mouth was wide open hearing Ronan's words as if it was unexpected for him.

"You gave her shelter, a human girl" Austin was having a hard time believing Ronan's story because he is not the guy to help someone rather he is the one to kill and spill your blood.

"You're not eating her?" Austin asked knowing Ronan's cruel nature and his words made Ronan smirk "I am not eating humans, for now, she is lucky " Ronan joked and Austin found it suspicious, so to find the truth behind his strange behavior he said "I am going to stay here tonight" Ronan furrowed his brows but didn't interfere with his decision and permitted him to feel as home.

Later at Night, Nyla was standing in the kitchen drinking water when footsteps approached her "you're Nyla, the human" surprise words chocked Nyla's throat and she turned her face only to find Austin an extremely handsome man with green eyes and short black hair standing in front of her.

"Who are you?" Nyla asked looking straight into his eyes and a smile appeared on Austin's lips "I am Ronan's best friend" Nyla nodded her head and greeted him in her polite tone "nice to meet you" Austin wanted to engage her more in the conversation as it was important for him to find the reason behind the special treatment Ronan was giving to her.

"Everything seems normal about you," Austin said as his eyes scanned Nyla from toe to head, his weird choice of words made Nyla uncomfortable, and to avoid interacting with him more she excused herself "I should go to my room now, my eyes are sleepy"

Surprisingly, Austin put his foot in front of Nyla just when she was about to take a step, and with a devilish smirk on the corner of his lips he spoke "Why are you in a rush?" his tone was a little flirty toward Nyla and she could sense it "do you have anything else to say?" Nyla threw a straightforward question on his face to which he asked her something weirder "why is Ronan being nice to you?" Nyla looked straight into his eyes and asked "do you have a dog?" her question made Austin speechless, he didn't expect her to ask something like this.

"No, why are you asking?" he asked in his deep voice. Nyla moved her lips closer to his face and whispered in his ear "because you smell like a dog!"
