Sarah's POV

“Please hear me out!” Lulu pleaded, locking her palms together.

“I already heard you the first time, and I'm not sure I want to do it again.” I snapped, taking Garry's hand into mine. Hand in hand, he supported me as we headed towards the door, turning our backs on mom's sobs.

“I was a selfish mother!” She screamed from behind us in a breaking voice, and we halted abruptly.

I closed my eyes and inhaled.

She continued: “I shouldn't have treated you like you were nothing. You needed a mother and a best friend, but I turned a cold shoulder.
