Chapter 30

Ace’s POV

Angel sat beside me, looking out through the window. I couldn't quite tell her expression as she had her head slightly facing away from me, and my eyes mainly concentrated on the road.

I cleared my throat and commenced a conversation after prolonged silence.

“Thank you!” I uttered shortly.

“It's alright!” She returned the same energy.

There I was, having thought she was absent-minded but the whole time she may have been reading every ounce of my breath.

I sucked my lips and arched one eyebrow, as my hands steered gently on the wheel. It was the first time I found myself experiencing difficulties in talking to her.

“Although, I don't see why you did that,” I mumbled, my eyes on the road.

“I mean, considering our history till now, and the nature of our relationship.” I stole a glance at her upon saying, and focused my eyes back on the road.

Blankly, she responded. “It's alright!”

“I mean it, though. Thank you!” I yakked.
