Chapter 28

Lulu's POV

Jeremy's eyes darkened. I swallowed a lump at the epiphany that this was the same man I fell in love with and married all those years ago.

He let out a huge sigh, and spewed venom at my face, but breaking my heart instead.

“Sarah is not my daughter!”

“What?!” I whispered, my voice breaking.

“Yes!” He snarled. “I doubt she's ever my own blood!”

My blinks prolonged. I searched for words behind the blanks of my eyelids, but in vain.

“Tell me the truth Lulu. It's been over twenty years, nothing can change now. But the truth would give me closure.”

There he was, the love of my life shooting arrows at me, one after another.

“Jeremy,” I sighed. “What are you saying? Sarah is our daughter, why would you even I'd do something like that to you?”

One hand stood on the invisible hip bone, while the other one covering his mouth as he heaved.

Baring his teeth, he heralded boldly:

“It's that colleague of yours, right? The one who took you out on dates under the pretext of work dinners
