Chapter:02:Caught Them Intertwined

After receiving the call, Chloe halted in her tracks, she has a conflicting look on her face. She kept looking at her phone for a clue but none was forthcoming.

“Who could that be, and why would he think of telling me first about Gabriel,” she thought. 

A few hours from now, she was supposed to get ready for her wedding, she has refused the idea of having a bridal party and now she is stuck in a big dilemma of going to look for Gabriel and saving him from whatever problems he is in, or she should continue with her birthday party cum bridal night.

Without thinking much about it, Chloe ran out through the back exit. She had forgotten about her plans to see her nanny and aunt. 

While running through the dimly lit hallway, she saw Claire running after her.

Claire has always been a stalker and knows exactly when she needs to go after her friend.

Upon seeing Claire coming after her, Chloe was too tensed to explain everything to her, she decided to dismiss her with a wave, promising to tell her everything when she gets back.

Claire was reluctant about leaving her alone in the loneliness of the night.

“I can't let you go alone, Chloe, do you realize how late it is? 

Claire asked clumping her dress with her hands while looking directly at Chloe.

“Tell me where you are going, otherwise I'm coming with you!” 

“I don't have time to explain everything right now! , I will tell you everything once I get back. Stay back and watch over aunt and Andrea for me!”

“I can't let you go! 

“Okay, I'm going to help out Gabriel”

After saying that she slides the car door open and close back immediately, 

Arguing with Claire is a fruitless effort, and she didn't have enough time to continue exchanging words with her. 

“I will give you a call ” 

Chloe said with a wink, immediately after that she slides the car into motion and drove out of the house, leaving Claire to gaze after her, until she disappeared into the thin air, only then did she turn back and went into the house.

Driving along the slippery streets of the Rave city, the street is slightly slippery to the rain that pours down a few hours back.

Chloe was scared about what could have possibly happened to Gabriel that someone had to call her up at such a late hour of the night.

Talking of the time, she brought out her phone to look at what time it is.

“What? it's already past eleven? , I don't think it was wise of me to have left home at such an odd hour of the night ”

She muttered to herself, but her resolve to go look for Gabriel kept her going.

It isn't a good idea for a girl from a prestigious home like hers to be seen roaming around the streets at such an odd hour, if anyone sees her or if the paparazzi get a glimpse of her, then she will have nowhere to hide her face.

After thinking about that, she decided not to allow that to bother her, since she wasn't doing anything wrong.

After all, she was going out in search of her fiance. 

After driving around for a couple of minutes, she arrived at one of the most beautiful and prestigious hotels in the city.

The Rave City Hotel!.

She got out of the car, without taking her bag along.

She grabs hold of her phone and slammed the door closed. She was about to tab the screen of her phone when a message pops up, she read through it anxiously.

It was an instruction.

As soon as she finished reading through it, she dashed off immediately.

She had the urge to run, but she has to maintain the image of a girl from a noble family. She walks in as fast as her tiny legs could. 

When she got the room number stated in the message, she pushed it open without knocking first.

The room was dark, there was no form of light to illuminate the darkness of the room, wondering where the switch could be.

Chloe used the torchlight on her phone to locate the light switch, as soon as she found it.

She went towards it in a full swing, she held the button and turned it on.

When she turned around after switching the lights on.

Her face fell at the sight of the two people before her.

She used her palms to wipe her eyes to be sure she wasn't daydreaming or sleepwalking, or hallucinating.

They didn't notice her presence at first since they were intertwined, sleeping on the king-sized royal bed. 

“No!, No!, No, this can't be ” 

Chloe shook her head vigorously at the sight of her fiance Gabriel on the bed with another woman. 

She was getting weak in her knees, then she fell upon the wall to support herself.

She was worried that something bad had happened to him, not knowing that he was busy disrespecting her with another woman, while their wedding is on the day after. 

“How could you do this to me? 

“How could you think of doing this to me Gabriel!” 

She said, then tears began to stream down her cheeks involuntarily. 

Disgusted by the sight before her, Chloe went close to the bed and landed a heavy slap on Gabriel's cheek, immediately the slap came close to his face, they jerked out of sleep.

Gabriel held his cheek, kneading them, then he realized that Chloe was in the room.

He became confused and panicked, upon seeing the aggrieved looks in her eyes.

At first, Chloe focused her gaze on Gabriel. She didn't care to know about the woman that Gabriel was spending the night with, she just wanted to know why Gabriel would think of doing such a thing to her.

“Tell me Gab! Why did you have to do this to me? What have I done to deserve this from you” 

Chloe asked, hitting him hard on the chest. 

Gabriel was too ashamed to admit or say anything to cajole her.

There was no way he could deny the obvious.

While she was still waiting for Gabriel to give her a reason, she heard a rather mocking apologetic voice from another side of the bed, then she trails the voice with her gaze. 

“We just had a little drink, it's not so big of a deal ”

“Please, don't blame him. Nothing happens between us, it was just a misunderstanding”

Upon hearing the voice, she could recognize it instantly.

She knew, who that voice belongs to.

The voice which has been tormenting her for as long as she could remember.

This voice has become her nightmare, she thought she could get away from this eerie once she gets married, but here she is again.

Chloe was dumbfounded listening to her speak.

“How dare you, Maddie? How could you think of doing this to me!”

“I am your sister, and he is supposed to be your brother-inlaw” 

“And you chose to spend the night with him, a day to his wedding! You should be ashamed of yourself, you shameless whore” 

Chloe roared angrily, with tears dripping down her cheeks.

“We didn't do anything, I promise. We just had a drink over a conversation ” 

Maddie said with a pitiful tone, which caused Gabriel to stand with her on this.

“I know you don't trust me, but you should trust your fiance a little bit more, right? 

She said, without baiting her gaze away from Gabriel.

“Shut up, you shameless little scam!

“How could think I would be so foolish enough to believe a word that comes out of your filthy mouth, you are just like your mother, homewreckers!” 

“Please little sister, don't drag my mother into this, she  hasn't done anything to deserve that from you” 

She said gently without raising her voice, pretending to be the good girl that she has never been. when she saw how impressed Gabriel was, seeing how gentle she was handling everything.

“Mother has always loved you, even more than me” 

Chloe was already disgusted by her pathetic acts, and she just wanted to pull her eyes out, and pull her tongue away from her mouth, so that she ain't be able to speak again. 

And put on this hypocritical in from of her again, but doing that, will spell out trouble for her and her sister.

After staring at Maddie for a couple of minutes, she saw her flashing a sly smirk at her. She couldn't control her anger and walk over to her side to leave her fingerprints on her cheeks, but before her hand could get to her, Gabriel held her back.

Maddie fell on the floor, holding her cheeks and tearing up profusely.

“Chloe! why did I ever do it to you? why do you gate me why did you have to hit me? I just told you nothing happened between and you still wouldn't believe it, you even slapped me!! 

Maddie said with an aggrieved toe while crying bitterly, Gabriel was angry seeing how Maddie was hurting.

“I didn't hit you, Maddie, stop lying! 

“Your drama and lies won't work on me, so you better quit acting !”

“Lying will not cover your shameless acts, you don't deserve to live ” 

After saying that, Chloe ventures towards her in rage. But Gabriel stood as a demarcation between them.

Before Chloe could get her hands on Maddie, Gabriel pushes her away and she fell with a loud thud sound banging her head against the closet. 

She was shocked by his action, she had never imagined that Gabriel would do such a thing to her, and what is worse, he did it in front of her stepsister, Maddie.

Chloe grasps her breathe quickly, looking at the man, whom she had loved all her life. She had been the only man she loves ever since she was a young bubbly girl.

 She has always wanted to spend the rest of her life, loving this man, and today he bullied her to protect this two-faced hanker in front of her.

Thinking about this, Chloe felt her throat drying up,  she retreated her gaze to the floor and tried to swallow hard to prevent a sore throat.

After a while, Chloe lifted her gaze to meet with both Maddie and Gab staring at her disgustfully. 

Gabriel wasn't remorseful about what he did, instead, he thought he had done the right thing.

“You are the shameless one around here, you barged into a room without knocking and you are scolding her for doing nothing to you” 

“How could you be so vicious enough to hurt your sister ” 

Gabriel yelled at her, hugging Maddie closer to himself.

This view before Chloe sent pangs of pains down her chest, she forced herself to take in whatever Gabby says about her, but she won't let her tears fall and look weak in front of Maddie.

“You wanted to know the truth, right? Well! here it is!

“I love Maddie! 

“Maddie is a sophisticated girl, with a classy lifestyle, unlike you, who looks nothing less than a beggar ” 

“And about what you wanted to know so badly, it did happen and we don't regret it one bit!” 

After saying that he hugged Maddie tighter.

Chloe found herself weakening in her toes, her teeth were gnashing against each other and her hands trembled looking at them. 

She wanted to curse at them so badly, but nothing that will not change anything, rather it would make her look like the bad guy here!.

“If you are so desperate to have yourselves intertwined, why did you agree to marry me? Why did you say you love me and wanted to spend the rest of your life with me?” Chloe demands, wearing a straight face.

“I was about coming to your house with a proposal for Maddie, but I don't want to be the bad guy!”

“The truth is, I have loved you. You are not even my type, I just had to play the love game with you to secure my reputation in the family, and now I will discard you without having myself placed in an awkward situation”

Listening to Gabriel speaks so I'll of Chloe made Maddie well up with joy, but she didn't allow her happiness to radiate through her eyes. 

“Gabby, you shouldn't say that, I know you don't mean what you are saying. You are just going this to make Chloe jealous, but trust me, Chloe, it's not the truth”

“I'm not joking Maddie! You are the one I want to marry don't care what anyone says, I love you, Maddie” Gabby professes, trying to scoop Maddie closer to himself, but she pulled away from him abruptly, leaving him dumbfounded.

“I think you are still a little drunk, we will talk about this later!” 

After saying that Maddie took her phone from the shield stood, she was about to dial a number, when Chloe reacted.

Chloe managed to balance her steps and stand on her own feet, then she stared at them for a couple of minutes before letting out dry laughter.

Maddie stopped in her tracks, looking at Chloe like she had gone mad. 

“You two are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites, I can't believe I couldn't see true your lies all this year Gabriel, you did well fooling me, but I won't allow you two to eat your cakes and still have it!”

“Thank you for showing me how foolish I have been all this while” 

Chloe said with a gritted teeth, fighting so hard to avert letting her tears out.

She couldn't afford to cry in front of these people, no they don't deserve her precious tears.

Immediately she said, she ran through the spacious hallway of the presidential suite, she lost her way for a moment due to the tears that have blurred her vision.

Despite being from a noble family, Chloe had never enjoyed spending time in deluxe places like this. 

When she saw the exit from a far distance, Chloe ran towards it in full swing, and with one forceful push, she slides the door open and steps out. 

Seeing the aggrieved look on Chloe as she left, Maddie ran after her.

“Chloe waits, nothing happened! don't just yourself because of me, please! 

“This is just a misunderstanding my dear sister! 

She said in a gently sympathetic tone, then she left, chasing after Chloe, as soon as she got to the large hallway, she brought her phone and put a call across to someone.

“It's time, make sure to do a good job!

With that, a sneaky smile appeared on her face, the moment she dropped the call. 

She leaned against the wall of the hallway staring at the end of the hotel alley, a smile appeared on her face, then she coiled her lip up.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk! poor Chloe, you have no idea what is coming your way, my young naive pitiful sister” 

Maddie said, looking at the road that leads to the exit.

“I can't let you ruin my image in front of dad, not after all the work I have put into this. Instead, I will make you take the fall for me as you have always done ” 

“Not like you are left with another choice though! how pathetic of you to think that you could ruin me, I will crush you before you think of doing that ” 

“Prepare for a big surprise sister!!!” 

Maddie swerved around swiftly after staring at the doorway for a couple of minutes.

Chloe was walking down the hallway in hurry, her tears were downing under her eyelids, and it has begun to blur her vision. She could barely see where she walk. 

The fear of getting herself in trouble in the middle of the night clasped at her chest, then the image of her fiance intertwined in bed with her vicious stepsister sends shivers of pain down her spine.

She flipped the bang of hair that fell over on her forehead ferociously, then she used her palm to wipe her tears.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her from behind and land with a loud thud.
