Chapter:03:Shameless Daughter

Chloe was dragged into a dark room before she could analyze where she was, a hefty palm covered her nose from behind a handkerchief.

She struggled to free herself from his grip, but her strength was no match for the man. He finally subdues her and she fell into a deep slumber.

Upon seeing her lean figure laying helplessly on the floor, the muscular man grabbed hold of her and carried her to the bed in a bridal style. 

He laid her on the bed as gently as he could to avoid, waking her up, even though he knew that she won't be waking up anytime soon due to the effect of the sedative she was fed with.

After settling her on the bed, he brought out his phone and put a call across to someone, a few seconds later, the call was taken.

“Hello, miss! I've got the girl! What next? ” 

“Do exactly what I told you in the message, don't dare cross your boundaries with her! Just make it look like something happened after that I will take care of the rest” 

“Remember, I said you shouldn't do anything to her, make sure to do a good job, and yes! No one should know I'm behind all of this” 

The voice rang out with a stern warning from another end of the phone.

“I understand! don't worry the job will be done! ” 

Immediately after that, the call dropped without the other party saying anything .the man looked at the helpless sleepless girl on the bed and pursed his lips lustfully.

His gaze trailed her exposed skin, but his mind went back to the warning he had received from his boss.

“You are one lucky bastard girl! ” 

He let out a withered chuckle, then he moved his gaze away from her.

Waving aside, the lust in his eyes, he took his drink from the table and moved to the balcony.

he couldn't wait for the morning to get done with the job and leave this hell of a place. he lit a cigarette, and a heavy smoke popped up.

Standing by the balcony, a young girl who seems to be in her early twenties was pacing around the corner, gawking at the screen of her phone occasionally.

She tabbed the screen of the phone and dialed a number frantically after she placed the phone on her ear.

“The number you are trying to call is currently switched, please try again later”

This was the voice that greeted her the moment she placed the phone on her hearings.

She tried calling the number again, but she received the same negative response, frustrated by this Claire took off a pair of her shoes and threw it out onto the balcony.

Then, she slammed her hands on the railings.

“What is going with that stubborn girl, I had told her not to go look for that guy this late in the night, he doesn't deserve it, but no! She wouldn't listen to me !”

Her fingers trailed through her dark brown hair, she ruffled them in frustration!

Different thoughts kept running through her mind as she feared something bad might happened to Chloe, but her instinct was to pick up on her. 

She took hold of her phone once and dialed the same number. She threw her out away when she was told the number was switched off.

“Have you be able to get hold of her yet?” 

Someone asked from behind, and she swerved to look at the person, then a smile feigned on her face when she saw the elderly woman before her. 

“No nanny! I still haven't got a hold of her yet!” 

She said with an apprehensive expression on her face.

“What!?

“her number is not reachable! I'm afraid,  nanny!

“What could have happened to her? Chloe is not the type that stays out all night long! 

“Did she tell you, where she was going and the time she will be back?" 

Claire nodded her head disappointedly.

She should have gone with her!

I shouldn't have let her go on her own!

“That is why I'm scared for her nanny, she said she was going to tell me everything when she comes, now  I'm scared something bad has happened to her!” 

Claire expressed with tears under her eyelids, threatening to force their way out.

“Shush!, don't say that nothing will happen to Chloe, she will be fine! , she is a strong girl and I know she will take care of herself!” 

Upon saying, nanny pulled Claire closer to herself and scooped her into a warm comforting hug, while her hands stroke her back gently.

A glimmer of an idea came into Claire's mind, while she was still engulfed in nanny's embrace, she felt that there was new hope of finding Chloe. She quickly lifted her neck from her hold, then she fixed her gaze on the nanny. 

“Nanny, I think I have an idea on how we could find Chloe sooner. Mr.  Crowther could be of help, right? Let's go and ask him for his help in finding Chloe, he has more than enough contacts!”

“I know that Claire, and I have also thought about it, but you know-how Mrs. Crowther is, I'm sure we won't let us close to him. Since this is about Chloe then, nevertheless let's give it a try ” 

Matilda has always been a nasty woman, ever since she got married to Mr. Crowther, she has made life a living hell for both Chloe and her sister Andrea.

Her daughter Maddie has also taken after her, she looks for every slight opportunity to oppress Chloe, fortunately, Andrea was taken away from home, she now stays with aunt Jodie. 

After agreeing on that, they left the balcony, holding each other. 

Both Claire and the nanny were worried sick about her!.

Getting to the living room, they met Matilda having a wine party all on her own, she wore an earphone and dancing with her head, with her eyes closed. 

She was engrossed in her world!.

Seeing that Matilda was engrossed in her world, nanny and Claire thought she would mind them going upstairs, without saying anything to her.

Immediately they stepped their feet on the first staircase, a sinister voice rang out from behind, and they halted in their tracks.

“And where do you two think you are going over there!? 

Matilda asked, dropping the earphone on the table, and walking majestically towards them, with her hands on her butt cheeks.

Nanny and Claire couldn't gather the courage to say anything in response to her question.

“I asked a question! , I didn't think I was talking to myself at all, or am I? 

She bent and glared at the two shuddering women ferociously, then she stands back to her normal altitude.

“Chloe is not home yet, and it's very late already. I was thinking I should tell the old master about it, he might get someone to look for her! 

Nanny explains, but before she could finish her sentence Matilda but in.

“What Chloe is not home yet!? why? how? 

She panicked looking at the entrance, then she gazes darted back to the living room as if trying to locate.

Nanny and Claire were overwhelmed by her sudden outburst.

She is not worried about her safety, is she!?

Matilda has never cared about Chloe until now, then what suddenly changed.

Dazed by the sight before them, Claire feels weak in her knees all of a sudden, then a sudden gush of sweat bead flushes over her fair skin.

“Haha haha! 

Matilda let out hysterical laughter after seeing the expression on their faces, she knew exactly what they are thinking about.

Nanny and Claire fixed their gazes on her, trying to guess the funny reasons behind her laughter.

They could place their minds on the cause.

“What if Chloe is not home yet? How is that supposed to be my business?” 

Matilda said a stern expression, that suggests how displeased she was with their attempt.

“She is not a child that needs to be stalk at all times. She will come home when she is done having fun” 

“Try to understand madam! , Chloe is not that type of girl. She must be in some kind of trouble, please listen to me and tell the master about it!” 

Nanny said with tears galloping on her lashes.

“What is there to understand? The fact that she is out there having fun with different men or what? 

“You want to go wake the master from sleep because of that? do you even know that he has an important deal he must strike tomorrow, and here you are planning to go wake him up because of a shameless daughter !” 

She said with a tone full of disgust and accusations.

Nanny could no longer keep her cool, while the woman throws vile allegations against Chloe.

She flared up and retorted.

“I'm sorry madam, but Chloe is not the type of girl you are mistake ing her for!” 

“Oh really? We shall see about that soon! 

“Now, I want you two out of my presence, if you ever think of telling the master about this, then consider yourself a goner, old wretched! 

“Now, leave! 

She ordered with her voice ringing through the spacious living room, immediately the nanny took Claire along with her and left the room.

They turn back to have one last look at the ferocious woman, she acts like a saint in front of the master and goes wild behind his back, laying attacks on the kids. 

The cacophony activities in the living room might have attracted the attention of Mr. Crowther, he descended the stairs holding the railings, while his voice rang out queries with curiosity. 

“What is going on here?” 

Mr. Crowther asked descending the stairs with his hand on the railing to aid his movements.

Upon hearing his questioning voice from above, Matilda swivels around sharply to look in the direction, where nanny and Claire had taken.

She heaved a big sigh of relief when she couldn't see their silhouettes, then a pretentious smile appeared on her face.

Walking up to Mr. Crowther, she kept a smile on her face.

“Darling? You are still awake? I thought you have an important meeting with the investor of Z country?

She asked, looking perplexed by his presence.

“Yes, I know that meeting is very important to me and the entire Crowther Group. I heard some noise from upstairs, is everything fine?” 

Mr. Crowther asked, looking around for any clue or the cause of the cacophony.

“Oh, that! , it was nothing! , one of the maids was sleepwalking so I had to yell at her to go back to her room, that might have been the noise you are talking about ”

She said, 

“The maid sleepwalk? Oh! That might be it, then !” 

he pondered for a little while, trying to recall, which of the maids sleepwalk, but his memory keeps failing him.

Matilda was getting annoyed with the looks on the old man's face, then she cleared her throat to draw his attention away from his supposed deep thoughts.

“Honey, I think you should get some rest now. You have a long day ahead of you, you can't afford to go late for such an important meeting ” 

She held his hand tightly while pressing against his shoulders. 

“Where are the kids? 

Mr. Crowther asked, after a while.

“I think, they are already sleeping in their rooms, I know of Maddie but I'm sure of the birthday girl! , but I think she is resting. You should also rest!”

Matilda tugged his shoulders lightly, walking to the stairs, she left him to walk on his own after they got to the first stair. 

She went back to having her solo party alone in the middle of it, she halted and cursed out.

“Stupid old man! , you just wait for it, you are going to have a long day from facing humiliations tomorrow at my and Maddie's courtesy” 

“This is going to be a very surprise for my darling husband, he might have a heart attack!”

“Wait! heart attack? That sounds goods, that's killing two birds with one light stone ” 

She burst out laughing out at her evil thoughts.

“And if that happens, no one will be able to stop Maddie from becoming the only heiress around here” 

“Chloe will be out of the way, and Javier will be on his sickbed! what a brilliant idea!”

“Why didn't  I think of this before? If I had, then I wouldn't have had to suffer raising those bastards!” 

“We, I'm winding them soon!

With that, she sips from her glass of wine.
