Chapter:07:Heart Attack

Mr. Crowther dragged Chloe ferociously outside, then he tried to slam the door on her face but before he could do that Andrea towards him with full.

She looked angry and aggrieved, she made to go out of the house in an attempt to go along with her.

When she was close to the door, Matilda took hold of her hand and dragged her back into the house, slamming the door closed.

Upon seeing how her nieces were being treated by the family of three Jodie got angry and charged towards Matilda with anger in her eyes. 

“Let Andrea go right now, let her go " 

Jodie roared at her, with a glint of hatred in her eyes, then she forced Andrea out of her grip.

“How could you do that to her! ?, And you too Mr. Crowther, I can't believe how lowly you think of your child, you couldn't spare a minute to listen to what she had to say, you chose to believe every word these said to you! ” 

“Wow, Javier! , wow! I'm very proud of the type of father you are becoming ”

“It didn't take them, more than ten minutes for them  to convince you about how calamitous your daughter is, but she spent an  hour begging you to believe her!”

Jodie said, fixing her furious gaze at him, then she swerved around and held Andrea closer to herself.

 Matilda was already pissed off by her words, she wanted to find a way to get her thrown out of the house and let the property transformation begins.

She wanted to tell and pull the younger woman's hair but she was forced to control her anger in front of Javier. 

While she was still contemplating on what to do, to get Jodie out of the house. She heard a loud eerie voice from the front, then she raises her gaze recognizing the voice.

“Jodie, you can leave my house if you are tired of staying within your limits. Moreover, there is no more wedding taking place in the family, so you can kindly excuse yourself from my house if you insist on insulting my family and me” 

Mr. Crowther said without batting an eye. His tone was calm and authoritative.

Seeing him chase Jodie away from the house, made a small smile fell on both the mother and daughter's faces. 

They were overjoyed, knowing there won't be anyone to compete with Maddie over the properties if both Chloe and sister are thrown out of the house. 

Jodie was stunned by his outburst, her mouth was left hanging with unsaid words clinging to her throat, she felt pathetic and embarrassed, she has never imagined Mr. Crowthee speaking to her in that manner.

After absorbing his insults for a couple of minutes, Jodie renewed her resolve to fight the couple. 

She raised her brows and was about to whip out at the man when Matilda butt in, cutting her in her tracks.

“You heard what he said, right? or do you need me to elucidate on it? leave this place right now! ” 

Matilda said with an authoritative tone. Jodie wasn't shocked by her actions anyway, she has always been so ruthless with the family ever since she could remember. 

But she had never expected Mr. Crowther to turn his back on them like that.

Jodie bites her lips bitterly and turns back aggressively.

“I'm taking Andrea with me! ” 

She scoffed at them, then she moved towards the young girl struggling to free herself from Maddie's grip.

When Mr. Crowther heard what he said about taking Andrea along, he was at alert at once.

He fixed his gaze on her without any emotion in his tone, he refuted.

“Andrea is not going anywhere with you !”

“What? Andrea is coming with me, and that's final Mr. Crowther. She can't continue leaving in a hell of a place like this !” 

“I will repeat myself just once Jodie, Andrea is staying here!

He half yelled, his veins elongated slightly.

“Andrea is my daughter, and I get to decide where she stays, I'm giving you all the respect I could give because you are Loretta's sister, otherwise I would have ordered the security to throw you out of this house!” 

“I wouldn't want you to teach her, the kinds of thing you do! , You are the reason why Chloe turned out like this, I won't allow you to mar my other child the way you did the other. Andrea is not going with you, You can leave now! 

Mr. Crowther said with a harsh tone, his facial expression was full of hatred and disgust for the young woman.

Perplexed by his unruly behavior, Jodie held her head up and stared at him for a while before speaking up in protest.

“Andrea has always loved staying with Chloe, how would she survive without her? Please let her go with me, please !”

“You can't do this to her, she is still a child. She needs to be with the people she loves and love her back!

 When Jodie said this, Matilda stepped forward to chase her out.

“You heard what the man said, right? You are not taking Andrea anywhere with you. She is going to stay with her family, and we are not going to talk about this anymore!” 

 She ordered with a tone of finality.

Matild was already worked up with dealing with Chloe and now she had to deal with Jodie as well.

“Bunch of trouble ” she muttered silently.

She felt that Mr. Crowther was insisting on having Andrea stayed back at the villa, but she didn't want to lose face in front of him, therefore she pretended to be supportive of his decisions.

When she turned her gaze to look at Maddie, she saw glimmers of anger in her eyes, then she signaled her to calm down.

Jodie took one look at Andrea, who was crying profusely while struggling to free herself.

Her heart shattered into many pieces, upon seeing her despicable state. 

She stretched forth her hand to touch her, but Maddie was quick to notice it, then she forced Andrea away from her reach.

MAtilda noticed the nanny walking towards Jodie with an aggrieved look on her face, the look on her face suggests how ready she was to evacuate the house along with them.

She moved swiftly and stood in front of her, then she bent over and whispered into her ears.

“If you think of leaving this house along with them, then let me remind you, your grandchild will pay the price!” 

She threatened with a smile on her face, then she patted her shoulders before leaving her in her daze.

The expression on the nanny's face changed after Matilda said that to her.

She looked petrified.

Jodie had seen what transpired between them from the corner of her eye, while her thoughts were still fixed on Andrea.

She moved close to the nanny.

She scooped her into a warm hug, 

“you don't have to worry about anything, I will take care of her, I want you to watch over Andrea for the time being, I will come back for her soon!” 

After she finished with her statement, she disengaged from the hug with a slight smile on her face.

“Smile nanny, we will be fine!! 

Seeing this drama Mr. Crowther left the living room and went upstairs to his room, after getting Andrea locked up in her room. 

When she was about to leave, Matilda slung a bag of clothes at her.

 It belongs to Chloe.

“Take that filthy bag along with, it might be useful during the long run” 

“I'm sure you are too poor to afford any good and decent clothes!” 

Jodie was aggravated but she managed to keep her anger in check, she bent over and picked up the bag.

Matilda walked closely behind her as she walks towards the door, she could still hear Andrea wailings from the doorway.

As soon as she got to the doorway, she turns back to look at the nanny, 

“Move out and don't waste my time !” 

Matilda said pushing her out of the door, then she slammed the door closed.

After that, she turns to face the maids and.

“I don't ever want to see that woman here ever again. You all must never give her access into the house, otherwise, I will have you all fired!”

“As for you nanny, I will see you later! 

“Now leave my sight! 

She ordered arrogantly and they dispersed in different directions, leaving Matilda, Maddie, and Mrs. Remas along with Gabriel in the living room. 

After everyone disperses, Gabriel left in a hurry leaving the three women alone.

“What a dramatic day we had! ”

Mrs. Remas exclaimed.

"It was indeed dramatic, there is just one thing left to be done " 

Matilda said, biting at her nails.

“What is that? 

Maddie asked with an angry expression.

“What with that tone, Maddie? Why are you talking to me with that tone! 

Matilda asked after noticing the gloomy expression on her face.

Maddie bites her lips tightly, then she flared up.

“Mom!, why did you stop her from taking that girl! , she is going to be a burden on us, as well as a hurdle ”  Maddie said.

“You are so silly Maddie, do you know what would have happened if I hadn't done that? 

“We don't have enough time to continue  salivating over this!” 

“Okay!, like I was saying, there is one more thing that needs to be done, then you can finally become the only heir! ,  don't worry about it, I will take care of it!” 

Maltida pledged, then a sneaky smile appeared on her face, and flips her hair.

 After listening to her speak, Mrs. Remas took an excuse and left the house.

“I will give you a call later in the day Gwenneth ” 

Matilda said, seeing her to the door.

Chloe stayed expectedly at the door asking her father to listen to her, but he didn't bother to show up.

After begging for hours, Jodie managed to wheedle her away from the mansion, along with Claire.

They got off the horse and walk into the busy street, Claire hurled down a cab, while Jodie held onto Chloe gently.

After a few trials, she found one and left the vicinity.

When they got to the slum area of the city, where aunt Jodie lived, they alighted.

Although this might be a new place Chloe was used to this place already since she often visits this place to hide away from the torture of her stepmom and Maddie.

Chloe came out of the car with her face marked with a thin line of dried tears. 

Her vision is blurry, but she composed herself.

Aunt Jodie took the lead, while Claire held the bag.

They walk silently towards their apartment, but when the neighbors saw them, they were disgusted and they began to gossip out loud about their hearings which infuriated aunt Jodie and Claire.

 “Isn't she the girl we saw on Tv!?"

“yes she is the one, she is the shameless girl that into another man's bed a night before her wedding!”

“why is she here? What is she doing in our neighborhood with her luggage? 

“It looks like she is going to be staying here with all of us!" 

Another lady replied in a low tone, which could be audible enough for the three women to hear.

“She can't stay here with us, a despicable girl like her can't stay in our neighborhood, we wouldn't want to influence our young girls, right? 

When another states this, they all nod their heads in affirmation.

Chloe was hurt, listening to them badmouth her and also her a bad influence but she had to be strong for herself and everyone else to get through this. 

“Let's go and confront Jodie about it, that girl can't stay here with us"

 A lady said, then she made a move towards the direction of the place the trio were taking, but before she could move, someone blocked her path.

“There is no need to confront aunt about it, I'm here to warn you to stay away from my friend! otherwise, yo,u ould regret getting in her way while she is here. I'm talking to all of you! Stay away from Chloe!” 

Claire swivels around and left, leaving the angry ladies gobsmacked. 

 Stunned by this, the ladies managed to find their voices. 

“Did you see her attitude, you saw how she was talking to us! She is in the wrong and she still had the nerves to threatens us? 

The lady laments with a hint of disbelief in her tone, her eyes were dark and vile.

“Such hopeless fellows, yuck!! 

 They stared at them with an acrimonious gaze, then they left. 

Claire was brimming with anger, by the time she got back to meet aunt and Chloe.

“I can't believe their nerves, crazy bunch of people. Wanted to oust you!" 

Claire squeaked out.

“You shouldn't have done Claire, everyone is entitled to their personal opinions!” 

Chloe said.

 “Including your foolish old man!" 

Claire replied then entered the room with one quick click.

“Mom? It's over an hour now! what do you wanna do to make me the heiress? I need to become the CEO as soon as possible, I need dad to transfer everything into my name!" 

Maddie laments with Searing gaze.

“Just watch me Maddie, and stop acting impatient!” 

With that, she went into the kitchen and made a cup of coffee, after that she added some powder to it, then she called out to the maid.

“Eloisa! 

When the maid appeared from behind, she signaled her to take the cup of coffee upstairs to Mr. Crowther. while she went back to Maddie.

“Mom? what did you do? Why did you give the old man coffee instead of asking him to transfer the properties? 

“Just calm down and watch me! I will make you the CEO in few hours, I promise!”

“Now, at the count of ten, you will know my plans are ”

“1! 2! 3! 4! 5! 6! 7! 

Matilda counted, making a mental sound of her finger slings.

As soon as she got to 7! she healthy maid screeched out tearfully.

“Madam? Miss Maddie? Help! 

“Your dad is not breathing well, he isn't moving! 

She said.

 “That was quick, it isn't even up to ten yet !” 

“Come on let's go and help him out!" 

She pulled Maddie along and they hurried upstairs, shaking vigorously.
