Chapter 13~ Valerie's POV

Reaching my apartment, I knocked lightly on the door. And no one answered, my worries grew, as I began panicking.

Forcing the door open, I walked inside and didn't see my mother in the sitting room, this heightened my concern, so I called out, "Mom," hoping for a response but I got nothing.

So I continued walking, then my search intensified, leading me to the guest room but I found no one there, I called out once again, and still no response.

Then, the tension mounted as I approached my room, so I held onto the doorknob tightly and tried opening but it was shut from the inside.

With that, I banged on the door so hard but still, I heard nothing.

As fear took over, I tried breaching the barrier and with a forceful push, the door gave way as it opened.

Then I entered and called out, "Mom," as my voice trembled with so much fear, hoping for a response this time.
