Tracy had posted a photo of herself, her dog, and both Walter and Thomas.

She was in a wheelchair, with her foot wrapped up in bandages. Maple was sitting in her lap, while the Pattersons stood behind her. They all looked happy. Even the dog seemed to be smiling.

Her caption read, "Thank you, Thomas and Wally. My chaotic life is now peaceful because of you both."

Both Walter and Thomas weren't wearing their wedding rings in the photo. However, they usually never wore it while working since their job scope was out of the ordinary.

Nonetheless, the lack of the wedding bands on both their fingers in the photo now served as a proclamation to the world that they were still single and available.

People were starting to leave comments under the post.

"Oh, my God! You're so lucky! Anyone can tell that they're both father and son!"

"Is this a family photo?"

"No way! I don't believe it! Sorry. I'm just going to insert my wildest imagination here."

"Don't worry. I'm already imagining it.

I suddenly started to laugh as I spoke. I laughed so hard that I gradually began to cry. They were small sobs at first, but eventually, I began to howl and wail. The baby…My poor baby…I lost him when he was about to be born…And everything was his father's fault!Walter was to blame for ignoring us and answering some other woman's calls! It was also because of the baby's grandfather, who went to treat some other woman's dog instead!Walter stared at me in my state, completely frozen in place. A long while later, he finally snapped back to the present. His eyes were red and ferocious."Penelope Rosewood, you goddamn maniac! How could you kill your own baby? You killed it because you were mad at me, weren't you? I told you I was busy! I told you I had other things to attend to! Why the hell did you refuse to listen to me?"You bitch! You made a huge fuss and refused to go home for days just to make me mad! You killed our baby! I hope you get nightmares for the rest of your life

Mom and I were discharged from the hospital that same night. We went back to the old house we used to live in. It had been a long time since we stayed there, so we spent a long time cleaning it up. In the end, we were so tired that we just fell onto the mattress and went to sleep right away.…The next day, we tried urging Walter and Thomas to sign the divorce papers, but they refused. It was the same situation for the next few days. They still refused to sign.Meanwhile, Mom and I started a small business selling trinkets at a roadside kiosk. If we really were to leave the Patterson family, we still needed a means to earn our living.Mom was a natural salesperson. She was good at bringing in customers and selling them our stuff. With that, we managed to make a sizable amount of money every day.A whole week later, Walter and Thomas finally came looking for us.We hadn't seen each other for seven days. Both Walter and Thomas looked pale and ashen. Their voices were also low, ho

I was just a waitress when I first met Walter. He was a regular customer at the restaurant I worked at. He would come and sit in the same spot every single day without fail. That was how I got to know him. He sent me home once when it was raining quite heavily, and that was how everything started for us.It was a very sweet and romantic start, but it also ended like a nightmare. There hadn't been anyone who came between us trying to tear us apart. He also didn't have a returning first love. It had only ended because he thought his father's "friend" was more important than I was—so important that he didn't even care about his own unborn baby's life. That was the only dealbreaker between us.I kept trying to get them to stand up, but they refused and just kept apologizing. In the end, Mom told me to pack up the kiosk so that we could go home and sleep. We were getting our divorces no matter what."Walter, I've already lost my baby. Can't we at least separate on a good note?""No

The next day, Mom and I tidied ourselves up and prepared to leave. We would both finally be free to go after our own dreams after today. However, just as we were about to cross the road, a car sped toward us in a deranged manner. It was Tracy. She looked like a lunatic."Die! Die, all of you! If it weren't for you both, I'd never have fallen from grace like this! You did this to me!"Mom and I were frozen on the spot. We didn't know how to react. Death was quickly approaching us. By the time I finally snapped out of it, Tracy's car was already less than three feet away.Damn it! We were going to die. That was the last thought on my mind.Just then, Walter suddenly drove his car straight at her. Both cars collided with a huge crash. One of the cars completely crumpled out of shape, and to my horror, I realized that it was Walter's car.I ran toward his car in great shock. He was unconscious and squished up in an awkward angle in the driver's seat. His forehead was also covered i

Walter was in the operating theater for five hours. The three of us waited anxiously in the hallway, sometimes taking turns.Neither Mom nor I had the heart to bring up the divorce proceedings at such a crucial moment. I even went to pay the deposit for the operation costs, which was about 20,000 dollars. Finally, the red light went off, and Walter was wheeled out of the theater. He was still unconscious."Doctor, what's my son's condition?""His life is no longer in danger, but if he doesn't wake up in 48 hours, he will forever remain in a vegetative state. • A Joint Divorce: Like Mother, Like Daughter   Chapter 1

By the time my induced abortion surgery was over, it was already late at night. The huge storm had reduced to a tiny drizzle outside the window. The news on TV was still reporting on the major rainstorm that just happened earlier today. Its headlines read, "Severe Torrential Rain in Oceanville Leaves 18 Dead on Subway Line, 600 Passengers Evacuated".Despite the discomfort from the anesthetic, I forced myself to search for my phone and call my husband, Walter Patterson.Mom was lying next to me, still unconscious.I thought that it was time for a divorce. The cold, monotonous dial tone kept ringing in my ears. Just as the call was about to end by itself, Walter finally answered his phone. He sounded angry and impatient."What the hell? The storm's already over, so why are you even calling me? I've been busy all day and haven't even had a drink of water!"Tracy's leg is hurt, and her dog is also severely ill. Dad just put it on a drip. We're still watching over them.""Thomas, W

Mom pressed her lips in a thin line. She took a very long time to calm herself down. That way, it wouldn't sound too obvious that she was on the verge of tears."Okay. Let's divorce as well. Tracy is your first love, and of course, she is more important than me. We're only strangers who met halfway through life, after all. Besides, Tracy is someone you've loved since you were young but never had a chance with."Now that she's back, you can finally go after her. You should chase after your love."Thomas started roaring even louder through the phone. He was vastly different from the person I had heard earlier, gently coaxing and comforting Tracy."Divorce again? So, you and your daughter think marriages are just a joke? That it means nothing to you both? You told me before that you left your ex-husband because he had a bad character. It's obvious now that you were the problem all along! You get jealous of everything!"Did you get water in your brain because of the storm just now? T
