Eva is threatening me. I know that much.

If she wants to publicize this to the world, she’s good to go. Maybe I can actually stop being afraid over nothing. We weren’t even doing anything. If anyone did something wrong, it’s the king.

“If they would love to hear about whatever it is you saw, who am I to stop you?” I actually wag my brow at her confidently.

“Seriously?” She looked like she didn’t believe I didn’t care about it. Perhaps she’s thinking I’m pretending.

A sigh left me and I rested my hands on top of the counter, curling my fingers around the edges. “I deserve some peace.”

“Actually I was joking with you.” I watched her pause for a bit before breaking into a grin. I don’t have to look through her before I know she’s lying… she meant it but seeing how I was unfazed by her, she dismissed it.

When I reached my room, the composure was gone.

I’m panicking right now trying to conceal how nervous his recent charges is making me feel nervous, whereas he’s unbothere
