Chapter seventy

Katherine’s POV

The feel of something long tickled my face and I raised a weak hand to wipe it off but it just bounced back.

Second later I felt and swiped even harder, forcing my eyes to open, wondering what it was.

"There you are," Caleb's worried eyes stared back at me, the rope from his shirt dangling. "I was so worried about you!"

I tried to sit up but I was too weak to even get up Caleb helped me up with a hand underneath my spine. The pain in my stomach came back with brutal force and I groaned loudly. Caleb immediately dropped his hand and I rested on the bed, gasping.

"Where am I?" I looked up only to see an unfamiliar ceiling staring at me.

"At one of my houses.

"W-why?" My throat felt dry and it was like we were in sync because Caleb sat up and reached for a glass of water.

"I didn't know what to do after I found you like that," he tells her, wiping away the water that spilled from her lips. "Who did this?" His eyes held a deep well of anguish and pain and I couldn't have t
